Advantages: Style, comfort and ease of use. Disadvantages: Average price??
In my opinion there are pretty much 3 main contenders for DJ Headphones with designs that don't copy each other. Technics, Sony and Sennheiser. There are others but they are mostly just copies of Sony's MDVR 700. Such as Pioneer's HDJ1000, Stanton's DJ Pro 3000 and Beyerdynamic DJX1.
What I love about these headphones is the comfort. They really are a pair of comfortable headphones with their padded headband and nicely padded ear cups. It's not ... ...your head. When I DJ I tend to well...have a tendency to dance. This is why, for me, these headphones are great. They mold to your head and stay there, as they are lighter than most of the competition in this range as they only weigh 230g without the cord. With the rotary housing (which allows the arms to pivot at different angles and lock into place) you can set the headphones to you preference and so you can have both comfort and practicality. ...

Advantages: Great quality sound Disadvantages: Some noises with the meds.
If you're searching for some nice phones, with some nice ergonomy, you have to look at these... I've seen many deejays working with these here in portugal, i have played one time with them, and i just have to say, that this phones have a great sound, especially the powerfull bass and the clean highs... They're just great to monitoring, don't need some weapon speakers, this will recover that... They have a great definition, you know clearly when you ... ...With this you will have total control in the gain of the tracks without looking at your mixer.. And you could be playng with these for an hour, and you dont have 'headwigs' =P
If you interested in buy ones around this price, buy these ones.. =) Technics, the name says it all... ...
