Although my new system is Sony I would certainly consider Technics again when choosing another. The Technics SCDV290 is slightly harder to find these days although they can be found both new and second hand on EBay. I was bought this stereo setup for my 21st birthday after months of listening to mates opinions and reading reviews. This is the best hifi i have owned Quality sound on all music types Many features from Bass to club Rock Classical etc. 5 CD Changer which saves alot of hassle changing cds. This Hifi Kicks out the sound too i rekon with afew more speakers you could use this as DJ Equiment for a part. ...the price. I would prefer Technics over any other sound system. Its a complete Home Audio & DVD Surround system. The speakers are from space. The only issue is the durability. The CD/DVD lens and the tape machines are to be looked after very carefully. And its quite a sensitive system unlike Kenwood, Sony and others. but don't forget the value for money. I wish they could add one more feature to the newer model which is wireless connectivity to speakers ...
