Tefal Actifry Review with images

AdvantagesHealthy, low fat tasty chips, cooks food quickly and thoroughly

DisadvantagesTimer, lid is already broken after just over 6 months!

"When the Actifry first came out I wasn't too fussed about getting one, however after hearing friend after friend rave about how good they are, I did start looking into getting one. The concept seemed great - a low fat electric fryer which cooked tasty, healthy chips. As someone who watches their weight and religiously counts calories, the whole '3% fat' side of things really appealed to me, and so when the actifrys popped up on offer in my local Comet ..." Lot fat cooking!

AdvantagesVery little fat needed to cook with.

DisadvantagesCan get very hot, quite a bulky unit.

"After my deep fat fryer finally died, i managed about two months before realising i needed a replacement....quickly! After a peruse at my local electricals store i was pleased to find that the holy grail of fryers (in my opinion anyway!) was at that time being sold for half price (£90.00), with even an extended warranty being sold half price, which i promptly purchased! My Mum in law had had an Actifry for a good year before i could afford one, ..." Read review

Tefal Actifryer Lower Fat Fryer

AdvantagesCooks with very little oil - meaning a healthier choice

DisadvantagesBland rather dry chips and expensive item to boot

"I purchased this Actrifry around 18 months ago for £109 at Lakeland. The reason being my deep fat fryer needed replacing and I had heard good things about the this before seeing it on special offer in store. After a bit of umming and arrhing (as even then at that price I needed to be sure I could justify the cost of something that at the end of the day was just to cook chips in). I would like to say I plumped for it as the advertising was heavy ..." Read review

Actifry:How to make expensive chips

AdvantagesOnly uses 1 spoon of oil

DisadvantagesExpensive

"We've owned our actifry for around 8 months now, when we bought it I think it was around £140, I've seen it for sale for around £120 recently. The actifry's biggest selling point is because it only uses 1 spoon of oil to cook with. We do like chips in our house but my partner likes them in the deep fat fryer and I preferred them in the oven so were both pleased with the actifry because we now both prefer chips cooked using the actrifry. There is a ..." Read review

Come Actifry with me!

AdvantagesGreat food, great product

Disadvantagesthe size of the product

"lets face it, we all love a good portion of chips with our meals from time to time, but always resent the amount of fat and oil that goes into them if we don't oven cook them. The product is the key to removing all that resentment. This fryer has the goal of cooking foods such as chips in a new healthier way, I'm usually not very good at looking after with my health so I thought that this product would be a good place to start as it means I'm eating ..." Guilt-free chips!!

AdvantagesCreates yummy, low fat food

DisadvantagesBit noisy and bulky

"I was quite lucky to get my Actifry for free! My Mum bought one and then upgraded it to an air fryer almost straight away - handing the 'old' one down to me at the same time. For anyone who hasn't seen one of these it's basically a cooking implement which cooks many different food types using very little or no oil, in order to try and achieve a fried taste without all the fat. The main thing I cook in mine is chips but there is a wide range of dishes ..." Read review

revolutionize cooking forever with the Tefal Actifry

Advantageshealthy food

Disadvantagesa little noisy

"The Tefal Actifry is a revolutionary way to cook food. We first bought the Actifry on a recommendation from a friend who had bought one. They had explained to us how good the machine was and how easy it was to use, so we did the usual and searched online for one. We bought ours for £80, a little expensive yes, but oh my god it is worth it. It is cheaper now. Lets make one thing clear, this machine makes a deep fat fryer obsolete! This fryer cooks ..." Tefal ActiFry Low Fat Electric Fryer

Advantageshealthy chips, easy to clean, not bad smells

Disadvantagesexpensive, noisy

"=== Tefal ActiFry Low Fat Electric Fryer === It's these days more and more about healthy eating and it's a trend I'm trying to keep up with, as long as it is easy. I don't like cooking so you don't see me a lot in the kitchen but I do like food of course. We out a lot of take away food and that's not always the healthiest food out there but it's delicious. Especially chips are always my favourite and I do love homemade chips. So in order to have ..." Read review

"...regret it later. With the Tefal FZ700015 ActiFry Fryer you only need 1 spoon full of oil to make 1kg of food with only 3% fat!!! There's no wrorrying about what's classed as a spoon or buying those teaspoon tablespoon measuring sppons because it comes with a nice green measuring sppon that helps you measure out the exact amount of oil needed. Specs: 1400 watts. Food capacity 1kg. Digital timer. Viewing window. Removable bowl and removable lid. ..." Read review

Makes chips sort of healthy!

AdvantagesEasy to operate, great build quality, great results

DisadvantagesA little slow at frying, very expensive!

"...after the mass of advertising Tefal slapped across television, magazines, posters, the internet and pretty much anywhere else they could put their logo. We thought that the fact that you could fry chips using just a single spoon of oil to be very innovative and a great feature. So, the most important aspect of this product, how does it really perform? I was a little sceptical about how well it could actually fry chips using relatively little oil ..." Read review

Tefal Actifry

AdvantagesEasy to clean

DisadvantagesNot enough recipes in book

"I have had a Tefal Actifry for around 6 months now, i was unsure myself as to whether it would be a one week wonder and just get put to the back of the cupboards. Well i couldn't of been more wrong. I first started out with the basics like making chips and i have never found something so easy, I used to make my own oven chips and it was a right job with the part boil before, i ended up using so many pans and oven trays making tea. Not anymore you ..." Read review

Best gadget ive bought in long time!

AdvantagesHealthy and tastier dinners

DisadvantagesA bit noisy

"I bought the Actifry after hearing members at my local slimming club raving about how good the Actifry was. Since buying this I use it everyday to cook my families dinners, chips are no longer known as bad food as I make my own using baking potatoes with a few sprays of fry light and they are better than the frozen ones I used to buy, even the children ask for my chips instead of frozen! I also cook chicken breast, prawns, roast potatoes, and I now ..." Read review

Tefal actifry : the best purchase ever

Advantagesit is great

Disadvantagesnone

"I bought Tefal actifry almost two years ago and i love it! I love it so much I gave it as a Christmass present to my sister :) The price; I paid only £99 for my 1.2 Kg actifry at argos. When I bought it few months after for my little sister, from the same shop, it was £129. Despite the price, that can see to be high, it s a great piece of equipment to have in one's kitchen and, at the end of the day, it does help to save money: less oil consumption ..." Read review

Tefal Actifry is very good

AdvantagesHealthier food without the need to deep fry but get that same great taste!

DisadvantagesExpensive, Could be bigger!

"I bought the Actifry as I wanted a Healthier alternative to deep fried chips. All you need is 5ml of oil on fresh cut chips and no oil on frozen chips. It is supplied with a measuring spoon and a recipe booklet! This gadget in my opinion absolutely fantastic. Not only does it cook chips and potatoes with only 5ml of fat, but they do taste just like the real thing. . The recipe book is great and I've had a go at most of the recipes which have all ..." Tefal Actifry - does more than just fry!

AdvantagesGreat tasting low fat chips and a versatile piece of kit

DisadvantagesIts fairly expensive

"I bought the Tefal Actifry as a compromise with my Husband as I hate the smell of deep fat fryers so refused to have one in the house but he really loves homemade chips. The Actifry isn't actually a deep fat fryer but you will often find it in that category as there aren't a great deal of products similar so that seems to be the closest category for it, the actifry works by pumping hot air into the cooking chamber while a central paddle keeps the ..."
