The Tefal VC101616 is a conventional three-tiered kitchen steamer which can perform all the usual functions. The base has a brushed stainless steel finish, and the baskets are clear plastic. Preparing the steamer for use, one notices that it is light - an important consideration if it's going ... ...to be said that the Tefal does vegetables very well. Things like carrots, cabbage and broccoli turn out well - and quickly - retaining good flavour and texture. It took its time doing spuds though although they, too, turned out well, so obviously they should always go in the first basket! At the time of writing I've not tried to cook rice, though a bowl for this purpose is provided, or fish.

Advantages: Looks nice, cleans easy. Disadvantages: It has many disadvantages and once I have found the receipt I intend to return it.
...hot - too hot to handle, the lid is not easy to hold either. I would not recommend it to anyone. I have gone back to using my old Rosemary Conley (digital with external re-fill spout, very sturdy - perhaps Tefal could learn a few things from her). ...

This product is highly dangerous and not fit for purpose. The bottom tray never fits properly onto the steamer causing it to be lose with a high risk of the whole tower of trays falling off scolding you with boiling hot vegetables and 100C water. A shockingly awful steamer. ...
