In our hectic modern lifestyle, it is essential that we are able to shave an extra few minutes off making a cup of tea. As the average person drinks about 4 cuppas a day, that's over THREE DAYS a year saved. Just think what you would be able to do with all that extra time. The kettle is an ergonomic masterpiece. The handle fits snugly into the palm and as the off switch is located on the underside of the top of the handle, the action of holding the ... ...(mind you, as you lift the kettle, you are removing it from the electricity supply, so maybe its not such an important safety feature after all). The most obvious safety feature is that you don't have to keep handling the electric socket with potentially wet hands. The kettle locates into its supply very easily indeed.
The lid lifts with a push of a sky-blue button on top should you ever need to do so, but I find the spout more than big enough to ...

When you start reading this you might think I am really bonkers. I have fallen in love with a kettle of all things.
This week my faithfull electric kettle died. I had had it for some five years and it had proved to be a fine servant, but it was getting very tatty. I decided to go to my local warehouse shop to see what was on the market, knowing that there must be a lot more up-to-date kettles on the market after five years.
I walked into the kitchen ... ...a he). He was neat, fairly small and rotund, and sported a pure white coat with blue trim, it was love at first sight. He really stood out amongst the other cordless kettles, they all looked alike.

...flick the switch and the Tefal starts to look (and sound) impressive. Within seconds, you get to hear the sound of water starting to boil, and a bit later, voila, anything up to 1.7l of water.
Apart from the build quality, my only gripe is that I can't "just go and do something for a couple of minutes while I wait for the kettle" anymore. ...

...& Hobbs rapid-boild kettles, the Tefal Vitesse has not put a foot wrong yet.
Its large, 1.7L capacity offers plenty of juice for the cafetiere or family-sized teapot.
When the unit is on and boiling, the push-down button on the top of the handle lights up, making it fully visible all the way round, no matter if you're left- or right-handed.
The water guage is also visible from both sides of the kettle and is nice and wide, so it's really easy ... ...in. There's none of this 'floating ball' stuff which gathers scrum and limescale all too easily.
Filling the kettle can be done through the fairly large spout (could have been made a bit bigger) or if, like us, you use one of those water filter jugs to help curtail limescale, lifting the hinged lid is a simple one-handed operation. This is the only real down-side, since condensated water often drips right onto the handle because there are no 'channels' ...

The tefal has a large easy to operate blue button which you simply tap to heat. It has a very simple lid that opens and clicks back on, with all the standard features of a filter and measuring gages at the side. I have owned this for a good 3 years, still in perfect condition.
Being cordless, its EVEN better, i like to boil a big kettle of water and take it into my room so i can have mutiple cups of green tea.
Only problem is the ... ...the inside, but that will happen with any kettle because of the impurities in the water.
Quick tip, pour some standard vinegar into your kettle, boil it and then pour the vinegar away and scrub. The lime scale comes right off and its brand new again.
Definately would reccomend this item! ...

This is a great kettle but expensive. Its a fast boil kettle, boiling and entire jug (1.7L) under 1.5 mins. It has a gold protected element which resist limescale supposedly 3 times as much as conventional kettles and it also has a filter in the spout just in case.
It has a great non angular shape and fits very easily to the cordless base at any angle.
It does make a funny noise when first switched on I expect because the element is the entire ...
