Advantages Advantages Support mattress which eases back and joint pain.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Cold when you get into bed and you can't use any form of heating.

"The Back", I'll say "isn't good". Not "my back", you'll notice, but "The Back". I've disowned it - it's no longer mine. My back has gone away on a very long holiday, but I'm sure it will return one day and this foul usurper will be evicted. About eight years ago I'd reached the point where I'd sleep for about an hour and a half, and then the pain would wake me up. There was no way that I could get comfortable, and I'd end up prowling the house until I was ready to drop from exhaustion. This is not a good way to live your life. I'm sure you'll have seen all the adverts for the Tempur mattress ... more

Advantages Advantages Comfortable nights of sleep.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Cost.

After my husband had been involved in a car accident 3 years ago, we have had endless sleepless nights (at least he has mostly) due to him not being able to find a comfortable position to rest in. I through various other complaints,(prolapse of the womb, being overweight, tired aching legs and arthritic hips and knees) have woken up with a pins and needles sensation in both legs and have crawled almost to get downstairs each morning. "Why dont you buy a Tempur mattress?" our friends all ask. The cost was probably the major drawback especially as my husband is on so many pain killers and ... more

Advantages Advantages Comfortable, great for bad backs

Disadvantages Disadvantages Ruined if you spill liquids on it!

This has been the best mattress I have EVER bought!! It was also the most expensive, but both myself and my fiance believe that it was the best money that we've spent in a long time! It's so comfortable that it feels almost like you're floating above the bed, and has really improved both of our bad backs (lower lumber problems) THe only problem that I can find with it is that it is not water resistant, and by their own admission, Tempur say that if you spill water on it it can completely ruin the mattress! Now this would be all very well for a normal £200 mattress, but for a £2000 mattress ... more

Advantages Advantages Movement of one person doesn't affect the other

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very difficult for love making, and gives me back ache

Ok it may have been designed for NASA, that doesn't make it a good product. The Tempur mattress we now have is great for my wife, so she says, but for me it is terrible. The mattress is designed to "give" or "sag" in the place where there is most weight. In our case most of my wife's weight is her hips and thigh, this mean she sinks in and gets a straight spine. My weight is not in the same place, so my hips/waist doesn't sink hence my back twists when I'm lying on my side. As for making love, the mattress is a positive hazard, it reacts like treacle, move your hand to adjust your balance and ... more
