...picked up a bottle of Tesco Australian White wine the other day whilst shopping for a few bits and pieces. A standard 75cl bottle was £2.99 with a further 20% off at the till on this occasion making it cost a total of about £2.40 – maybe that should have been a warning?! I have been able to buy many wines at what I consider a good/cheap price and the taste and quality has been very good – not so in ... ...in a plain green bottle with a colourful yet strangely old-fashioned label and the name is pretty basic – just “Tesco Australian White Wine”. Produced in the South Eastern region of Australia this boasts being a “fresh crisp white wine with citrus fruits and herbaceous flavours”. Well, what can I say??! Advantages: Price, easily found Disadvantages: Grape choice, harsh not smooth
...represents a good low price. Tesco claim this to be one of their “long-running stars” in their Australian range and give it a 2 rating, which is pretty dry, I concur. The wine is fruity with vague flavours of apple and lemon. There is a sharp after taste removing the normal Aussie smoothness I expected. There is no oak taste, so its one that missed the classic Aussie oak treatment. The alcohol content is declared at 12% making it reasonably ... ...Lindeman’s Cawarra Colombard Chardonnay, which Tesco also stock, a bit more money though. Tesco’s White is not one to keep and it needs to be drunk (no not you the wine) within one year of purchase.
If you bring me a bottle I would drink this wine, well before you go home anyway, as I would not hold it in my cellar. I guess it would be good outdoors in the summer when you can mix it to create white wine spritzers. It tastes better mixed ...

Advantages: Value the english way Disadvantages: More expensive than some
...as the consumption went on. Tesco had lower cost elsewhere.... consider this when you buy alcohol at this store (check out my review for Tesco red). It still packs quite a punch.
Tomorrow I will try some more from the bottle again check out this site for updates. The wine mantained its freshness for the second day, the screw top seems to work. It aided the digestion of my evening meal. I will finish the last glass this evening. UNITS OF ALCOHOL: ...
