Advantages Advantages tastes gorgeous, filling and really cheap.

Disadvantages Disadvantages only available at tesco's

I recently wrote an opinion on Tesco’s vegetable curry so many of you will know that I like to tuck into the odd, mild one. I never used to like curry though. I used to spew my guts out every time I had one, which I think had something to do with my taste buds not being fully adapted until later on in life. So while wandering around Tesco I came across this plain looking ready meal in one of Tesco’s many freezers. Since getting an oven (around 2 months after we moved in), we haven’t bought many ready meals. However it is sometimes nice to give yourself a break from cooking ... more

Advantages Advantages Tastes even better than posh currys

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not enough of it

Ok, so this will be my first stab at reviewing a microwaveable meal. I'm more used to reviewing things which have some kind of moral/psychological nuance hanging off the back of it, so, forgive me if I get a little tangible. So, onto our curry. It comes in a blue box, and it has a picture of the curry you are about to receive on the front. Which is handy, as if it was a picture of...say...a lawnmower, I guess you could take Tescos to court for misinformation, win a hatload of cash and go out to a proper indian restaurant. This curry only costs 89p, so you don't need a lawsuit victory to buy it ... more

Advantages Advantages quick and easy to cook

Disadvantages Disadvantages no boil in the bag option

While I was doing my weekly shop yesterday hubs and I decided we had better fill up our empty freezer. We tend to always keep convenience meals in the freezer in case we are ever in a hurry or can't be bothered one night! I had had my eye on Tesco's own Chicken Curry with Rice for a while. Costing 98p for one 400g box or as part of a range where you can buy 5 different products for £4. So I bought 2 of these along with 3 other dishes! The box is fairly large and is Blue with tesco written in light blue. There is a picture on the box of tasty looking chicken pieces in the sauce with rice! Ther ... more

    Advantages Advantages warms you up

Disadvantages Disadvantages dont eat if you have a dodgy stomache

I thought I would give this a try, as I love curries. Big mistake for me, far far too hot. I love the creamy korma ones. This would be nice for anyone who loves, hot and spicey foods. It actually smelled all through the house I had to open all the windows. PRICE The price is reasonable at 99p for a single portion. Good price for some on there one. PACKAGING. Is purple with picture off the contents cooked. You can freeze it if you want. CONTENTS. Chicken pieces in a spicy tomato and onion sauce served with rice. It does say there may be traces of nuts. If your allergic to nuts, I would ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap and cheerful!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages not big enough!

Now i used to be a customer of safeway or the co-op. But after having to tighten my spending due to buying a car i could not afford! So i decided to shop around for cheaper food, after visiting tesco,s i came away with 3 carrier bags full of food for just twelve pounds. There own brand stuff is excellent! but thats another opinion. Anyway back to the curry, you can buy 5 chicken curries for four pounds.Thats just eighty pence each, Now you will probably find that there not very big, so waht i do is bulk them out by adding various veg.ie a tin of value mushrooms 33 pence. Then you have a ... more
