Tesco Home Delivery Service

Advantages: Very reliable service
Disadvantages: Short shelf life items need us by dates checked

...years taken advantage of the Tesco home delivery service. For the simple reason I hate going to the supermarket. I always seem to get stressed out by out of control kids or people with massive long lists not looking where they are going. As a result I got more bruises than I did when I played football. What I do now is place an order once a month online and top it up with fruit and vegetables in between direct from the store. The Home Delivery ...

Feedback: After this delivery I was impressed to receive an e-mail survey asking what my delivery was like and how they can improve their service. It's always nice to be ask your opinion so hopefully things can improve. Conclusion: The Tesco Home delivery service is a very reliable way of ordering all your ...

You can have it but only if its on the shelf

Advantages: cheap, wide range of goods, delivered to your door.
Disadvantages: £5 delivery, out of stock goods.

Tesco direct.com (Saffron Walden Store delivery) I began using Tesco direct, when my wife got her job. Being disabled the service seemed ideal for me, as I couldn’t carry much from the shops on my wheelchair. All was relatively ok to start with, and the products that were out of stock were replaced with adequate replacements. However, last Christmas I did quite a big shop: Mainly to get all my drink, for the festive season. Along with a ...
...next time I ordered from Tesco direct was just after Christmas. Again a lot of items were out of stock and only a few replaced. My complaints, gained the answer of: “Our home shopping goods, are picked from the same shelves as our customers use. Therefore we cannot predict availability” (Not the exact words). So what is the point of doing your shopping online, if you don’t get your goods? Well, if you are Prunella Scales of course ...

Tesco Direct Is it Good bad or just plain ugly

Advantages: They always turn up on time. You no longer have to go in person
Disadvantages: It can take to long to do your shopping when you are first starting out

...the guys and girls at Tesco a little while to bring their amazing on-line shopping service into our area. Which at the time I found frustrating. However now that it has arrived it has made our life just that little bit easier and my blood pressure a little bit lower. My first experience of using their service was some what slow and at time irritating. I have found that their search engine comes up with the most unlikely items first when ...

Advantages: Brilliant prices and a generally hassle free service.
Disadvantages: I haven't found any yet

...place my first order with Tesco Direct, and have never looked back! This is a marvellous service and offers exceptionally good value for money. My order included 4 pairs of childrens shoes, 4 girls tops and a pair of childrens shorts, all of which came to slightly under £30 (including delivery charges). The quality of all of these items was excellent, as was the delivery service ( they were delivered within 3 days). The customer service was quick ...
...that unlike many other companies, Tesco Direct is non-discriminatory, with regard to their accepted method of payment - you may choose whether to pay by credit card or cheque - which is wonderful for those of us deemed unworthy enough to keep plastic through no real fault of our own. After all of this, there was one further thing that convinced me of their worth - all of my purchases came complete with their own Tesco price tags (as you see in the ...

Convenience needs to be balanced with quality

Advantages: convenience; charge can be cheaper than other stores
Disadvantages: unpredictable delivery times; defrosted food; lower-quality products given

I used Tesco Direct regularly (every week) for several months, and I feel somewhat ambivalent about the entire process. ===General comments on delivery service=== On one hand, it is convenient to have one's shopping delivered. Although Tesco charge for delivery, their delivery is often (although not always) cheaper than Sainsburys if you are a smaller household (i.e. spending less than £40 on one shop). On the flip side, Sainsburys give you a one-hour ...
...have found quite frequently that Tesco delivery quite close to the end of the two-hour time slot, which can be somewhat irritating. In addition, they have a rather mixed bag of deliverers. Some are aggressive and terse, while others are very helpful and kind. As a general rule, however, they will bring your shopping right to your fridge, which can be very helpful. I believe that Tesco have a broader range of coverage than some of the other supermarkets. ...

welcome to the computer age

...email, websites, photos and videos. Tesco direct has really, however, changed my life. Tesco direct is the abiltiy to do my home grocery shopping on line. Order the cd, load it on your computer, log on, and the product lines are updated. I then browse, store those regular shopping items in my favourites and select the items I want to purchase. Log on again, order, select my delivery date and time, and hey presto my shopping comes to me. £5 is the ...
...a 24 hour period and tesco are willing to deliver when I get home from work. My weekly shop now takes me 10 minutes and I am very pleased about not having to go to the shops. This is a real bonus, I live in a rural area and it saves me at least 2 hours a week. I can see everyone benefitting, the elderly, the housebound and those who are too busy or lazy to shop. Men around the land take note. I have had no problem at all and I can see no drawbacks ...

Tescos - Not always perfect

Advantages: You don't leave the house
Disadvantages: You do not always receive what you want.

Tesco's - I love Tesco shopping but the last time I shopped on line they excelled themselves after many problems with them in the past. Here’s my story. Back in October last year I placed an order of over £120.00 worth of groceries, unfortunately not everything arrived and when I ordered 30p crumpets to be substituted with £1.00 crumpets I was not amused. However most of the order arrived intact except for a few broken eggs and few bashed apples ...
...had no intentions of using Tesco online shopping again as they had screwed up on every order so far, so I tried ASDA. ASDA have been spot on every time. 3 weeks ago I received a lovely letter from Tesco with an e-voucher worth £15.00 because I have not shopped online with them for a while and they had missed me etc. I ordered nearly £150.00 and the shopping was spot on, all in date and arrived perfect and the invoice was correct. I was so pleased ...

Thank Heavens for Tesco Home Shopping

Advantages: They bring the stuff to you
Disadvantages: But now and then they make little mistakes!

I started ordering my shopping on-line because my two little angels (!!) didn't like going shopping. I have to admit I'm not very keen myself - all that queuing, etc. (Plus I have been known to get a bit lethal with the shopping trolley!). I had only shopped at Tesco's once previously but as they were the only store offering home shopping in my neck of the woods (sunny Rochdale), I thought I'd give them a go. The home page sometimes has a bit of ...
...relatively clear and easy to get round. The first thing I do is go straight to the "special offers" pages where you can just look at the top offers that week or look under each department (health and beauty, frozen foods, drinks, etc). You can then search under all the departments and sub-departments that it brings up, but if you tend to order the same things over and over again, you can look at everything you've ever ordered and just put the quantity ...

...wife and I ordered via Tesco Direct a "Fifi and the Flowertots" bedding set for our little girls first bed. Excited, we went to collect from the store after dismantling the cot and putting up her new "princess" four poster single bed. Never again

Advantages: Clubcard Points
Disadvantages: Rude Customer Service, Dated Customer & Order Databases

Drawn to Tesco Direct by the thousands of Clubcard points and seemingly cheap prices I ordered a DVD player and electric shaver. The order process was simple and quick though I felt the site lack the additional product information one familiar with amazon would expect (user reviews, ratings, etc). Were I a simple consumer, my rating would end here as within 5 working days I'd have received the goods and probably be very happy. However, it's never ...

Not with Tesco Direct. *MISLEADING NAVIGATION* A link which would appear to allow me to cancel my order took me to some FAQs that stated order canceling wasn't possible because the order process had started and items would be dispatched straigh from the warehouse. *TELEPHONE SUPPORT* So I decided to call Tesco Direct. Telephone supoort is an overlooked feature of online retailers but often seperates the good from the great. ...

Tesco Direct Next Day Delivery takes a minimum of 4 days!

Advantages: Products appear to be a fair price
Disadvantages: Money is taken instantly. Next day delivery does not happen

...I have suggested these to Tesco and HDNL. 1. When they logged it received in the wrong depot they could have delivered it from there - either by themselves or a reputable currier. 2. They could have phoned me when the error was spotted (1435 Monday), apologised and made compensation as well as offered a timed delivery when they would give me my goods. 3. They should not have told me I would get it today. 4. HDNL should not offer next day delivery ...
...their rigid procedures. 6. Tesco should have sent another parcel to me by an alternative carrier in a 2 hour slot. 7. Surely under trades description act they should not sell next day delivery that takes 4 days or more But unsurprisingly none of these are possible as they are not "policy". I remarked that it's not my policy to forego 3 days wages at £180 per day to wait in for parcels that thus far have not arrived. I am not satisfied that I will ...

...So I decided to try Tesco Direct instead. THEIR RANGE I found that there was a good choice of kettles; in terms of styles, brands, colours and prices. THE SITE This was very user friendly, once I had registered with them. There is a clear photo and concise details of each product. DELIVERY It wasn't terribly clear how long it would take to deliver the item. Having said that, it arrived about three days later in perfect condition. ANY NEGATIVE POINTS? I did notice that the stock appears to change fairly quickly. For exmaple the kettle I bought is no longer available in the colour I chose. However it is ...

Tesco's a winner yet again!

Advantages: Great Prices, Wide Range of Products, Clubcard Points, Fantastic Service
Disadvantages: Some items temporarily out of stock.

...Experience I’m a loyal Tesco supermarket customer so when I heard about the new Tesco Direct service I was really pleased that there was someone else out there competing with the likes of Argos and Woolworths. I searched on the site for products that I had been looking for and was amazed at the prices. I was searching for wardrobes and I only wanted inexpensive ones for my spare room. ...On Tesco Direct I found the Santa Fe 2 Door Wardrobe, in Beech effect at £49.87. It looked the part and was a double door wardrobe in a beech effect with panelled opaque doors. I was also looking for Storage Trolleys and found a three tier open plastic trolley for £6.97. The prices were made even cheaper as at the time they were doing a 20% discount offer. I placed the items in my basket and proceeded through the checkout with no problems. I was ...

...OOpps! So I emailed Tesco to make them aware of this little mistake and to be honest didn't really expect much to come of it. Oh how wrong was I?
