Advantages Advantages Good for you, tasty

Disadvantages Disadvantages Little extras left in between your teeth!

In The Beginning Summer is coming and I no longer need porridge for breakfast to keep me warm throughout the day, I now switch to a summer breakfast of Fruit & Fibre. I used to buy the Kellogg's variety but as I am watching the pennies a bit these days I decided to stop being so snobby and try the TESCO's own version. From The Outside The TESCO Fruit & Fibre looks pretty similar to the Kelloggs, at least from the outside. It's in a purple box, as is the leading brand, and the picture on the front is of the actual cereal itself looking very appetising, with a jug of milk and a few bits of fruit ... more

Advantages Advantages Great taste, Very healthy, Cheap,

Disadvantages Disadvantages None at all really, oh yeah not enough apples!

What’s better than waking up in the morning to a nice bowl of cereal! Now that puts a smile to everyone’s face, knowing they are going downstairs to their favourite bowl of cereal. Yum yum its time for some yummy gooey gum! No not gum, its time for some bran. Ok I’ll stop trying to create some rhymes and I’ll carry on with my op! By the way sorry I haven’t been around that much on Ciao these few months as I am BUSY with coursework, and revising for my upcoming tests. So I’ll be fully back around in July, but I’ll be trying to read and write whenever I have the time. Anyhoo, I am going to tell ... more

Advantages Advantages Good mixture of fruits, leaves you feeling full and ready for the day

    Disadvantages Disadvantages High Sugar Content

I have to admit that I am not the best when it comes to having breakfast. As I work 9 to 5, having breakfast at 8 in the morning is not always the most appealing thing and then of a weekend I get up, start the housework and before I know it, it is lunchtime! I have tried just a round of toast but I get bored of it and I have also trued brunch bars but found it was getting a little costly so when I was having a look around my local Tesco for something to eat for my breakfast I came across the stores own brand of fruit and fibre cereal. With the winter months fast approaching I have decided that ... more

Advantages Advantages A cereal that is full of fibre

    Disadvantages Disadvantages nothing major

I have to admit that fibre cereals would not be my Number One choice, but there are certain times that a matter has to be addressed and I scuttle off to Tesco in search of relief. Yes, you read correctly, relief! I am sure that I am not the only person that suffers from constipation. So if the pipes start to seize up then it is time to set the wheels in motion. A 750g box of Tesco Fruit and Fibre cereal costs around £1.50, so if I am going to spend that much then I want to see results! Tesco have done a good job marketing this cereal product, the picture on the box makes it look delicious. The ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap and cheerful, tastes very nice and very filling.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

In the past I have always been the kind of person who bought certain brands. Ketchup or baked beans have to be Heinz. When I bought cereal it usually had to be Kelloggs but over the last couple of years I have started penny pinching buying Tescos own brand cereals and other cheaper products. When ordering my cereal I decided for a change I would get some fruit and fibre. I bought the Tescos own product as opposed to Kelloggs. For the Tescos own brand it was £1.49 for a 500g box. It was £2.69 for the Kelloggs fruit and fibre. So for nearly the same price as the Kelloggs box I could get two ... more

Advantages Advantages Plenty of fruit and nuts through it, filling, Price

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I first bought Tesco Fruit & Fibre when I decided I should be eating something a bit healthier for breakfast than choclately, sugary cereals. I have tried both this, Tesco own brand, and the more expensive Kellogs version and I actually prefer this one and it's a lot cheaper. You can find it in only in Tesco, obviously, and it comes in a bright purple box with a picture of the bowl of the cereal on the front. It says it is crunchy wheat flakes with raisins, banana, coconut, apple, hazelnuts and almonds. It comes in 500g (91p) and 750g (£1.36) which is very reasonable compared to Kellogs at £1 ... more

Advantages Advantages brilliant taste and loads of fruit

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

I have discovered yet another great Tesco product. I think I should get a job with their promotions department (if there is such a thing). I was having trouble going to the little girls room.” If you know what I mean.” now this is a new problem for me. (Too much information she said) Any time I have bought fiber products in the past, they have been like the scrapings from the bottom of a budgies cage, all wee bits and hardly any fruit. My eyes were drawn to this purple box with Tesco fruit and fiber on it and a nice picture of what was supposed to be inside it looked really nice. I ... more
