I recently signed up for Tesco Pet Insurance for my little Tigger (adorable little moggy or a domesticated shorthaired cat according to my insurance policy) and wanted to share this with you. Its cheap, quick, easy, affordable and so quick it’s unbelievable.
I clicked on Google for pet insurance and found a site that compared pet insurance packages – Tescos came out a few pence cheaper so I clicked on the Tesco web site (www.tesco.com) where you ... ...the cat missing posters and Tesco insurance will reimburse you up to the cost of £500 for advertising for your lost pet. If your pet still doesn’t turn up within 45 days they will refund the purchase price for you. If Tigger ever runs off this will be a useful area to claim under as advertising in papers are not cheap – however if you cat returns of his own free will you have to refund any money they may have paid you.

...taken out 12 day's previously Tesco pet Insurance on all three of our Cats but unfortunately because the 14 day cooling period was not finished I could not claim for the visit. I did ring Tesco and got a very polite reply but a negative reply all the same so had to stomach the loss and rest in the fact that they would be covered in two day's time.
Today I had to take the same kitten Becks to the Vet again this time fighting with her sister she had ... ...Vets fees.
With the Tesco policy we have to pay the money out initially and claim it back through Tesco this is not because of the policy but our Vet will not deal with the insurance company needless to say the Vet is losing a customer. I have the extra cover which has a £40 excess and for all my Cats to be covered it is just £18 a month. Not only that but I got £15 Tesco Gift card just for signing up and they were the cheapest I could find on the ...

On my trip to Tesco this week they shoved a load of leaflets in my hand and one in particular caught my eye, The Tesco Pet Insurance.
Now I have 3 cats and 4 dogs and used to have them insured but when things got tough we had to cancel, We did this but felt naked as they had always been covered even though we had never claimed on it.

...the reason I would recommned Tesco pet insurance is due to my personal experience of having to make a claim. I got a new kitten in June and she is adorable. But one day she jump awkwardly of our sofa and banged her leg on the wall. She clearly was in pain and appeared to have difficult walking on the leg. I started to panic thinking she'd broken her leg. That morning I had just insured her and I started to panic because I initially thought that she ... ...etc. Once home I called Tesco pet insurance and explained the situation. Whoever I spoke to was so helpful and informed me that as soon as I clicked confirm on the website pebbles was insured. A few days later the claims details came through, I handed it to my vet who sorted it all out. About 10 days later I received a cheque. The speed of service was amazing and I phoned the customer service a few times for other issues and everytime I speak to ...

...whereas both Pet Plan and Tesco only covered 'reactive' care rather than preventative. Petcare also allowed for 'prescription feed' whereas the Tesco policy would consider that food rather than treatment. The vet was quite pushy regarding the Petcare policy, however when you consider the premium is £50.00 per month, you have to balance the risk that you pet may at some point need prescriptive food and for how long against the extra monthly premiums, ... ...it necessary. Cover between Tesco and Pet Plan was very comparable with no significant differences.
When I contacted Tesco, I was impressed with the way that they viewed us as a 'unit' rather than 2 separate pets. The usual rate would have been about £12 per dog (no extra rate for the fact they were Mastiffs), but as there were 2 dogs involved, they gave us a reduction and only charged us £17 for both dogs, which was excellent value.

...finally bought the insurance from Tesco because, at that time, they were the cheapest and not knowing anything about pet insurance, didn't know any better! When my CKCS took ill I put in a claim. Tesco were very good and paid out the claim promptly. Then my dog had "dry eyes" and, again, Tesco paid out the claim each time I submitted it. All in all, Tesco pet insurance is good - they do not quibble in paying out the claims - but you need to be aware of their 12 month clause. ...

Quick review of Tesco Pet Insurance
I changed to Tesco a few years ago when the dogs were still youngish as it was cheaper, but that was a major mistake.
As they have got older and despite the fact that I had never claimed before (for years) they really didn't want to give me any money.
My dog had athritis in his front paw first and Ihad a small claim for that, but when he had it a few years later at the other end of his body, they would not pay out because they said it was connected ( even though the vet said it was not) Poor value for money all round.
Seriously considering cancelling and puting the money away for any future vet bills. ...
