    Advantages Advantages Good price, apple is not to acidic,

    Disadvantages Disadvantages The pastry needs to be a bit sweeter , possible needs a bit more filling

    I was expecting some friends over a couple of weeks ago and all I knew was that they were due to appear some time during a Sunday afternoon. My friends were calling at my house as they were passing through the town on their way back home so I thought I would get a couple of nibbles in for us, that way they could pick if they wanted but there was no pressure to eat, plus I wanted to try out my fancy new cake stand!!!     Advantages Advantages nothing really just cheap

    Tesco Value Apple pies are okay, reasonable but not great. They cost 36p for 6 little pies which are quite pale in colour , (light beige) and are covered in sugar. The pastry is quite dense, not as light as I would have liked and there isn't a great deal of apple inside either which was a disappointment. Sometimes the apples in apple pies can taste a bit acidic but these are not, it's just that there's not really enough of the apple to tell how acidic it really is. The can be eaten warmed up in the oven (or microwave) and served with ice cream (my personal favourite) or custard or cream ... more
