    Advantages Advantages Very cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages Rather thin and not very soft

Tissues were a very difficult find in my house before my daughter appeared on the scene, loo paper used to be used for the occasional blowing your nose and it would be a special trip to the chemist or supermarket if either my husband or me had a cold. This all changed on the birth of my daughter, tissues became a regular purchase on my weekly shop. With the rapidly increasing cost of my grocery shopping recently, I have noticed more and more Tesco Value products entering my trolley. One of these products is Tesco Value Tissues. In the past I have purchased Tesco Balm Tissues at £1.49 a box and ... more

Advantages Advantages Very good quality for the price, excellent value for money.

Disadvantages Disadvantages None, unless you start comparing it to leading brands.

These are a hidden gem at Tesco's, very undervalued and always placed on the bottom shelves - to make way for the other leading brands who have paid for the best shelf spaces, I guess... These are a box of tissues by Tesco's own value brand. They used to cost 36p for a box of 150 2-ply tissues. This already, without accounting for the quality of the tissues, is an absolute bargain in itself, excellent value for money. The quality of the tissues cannot really be compared with the leading brands. Not really as soft and as nicely folded, but in their own league, these Tesco Value tissues do hold ... more

Advantages Advantages Nice size, absorbent. 2 ply tissues and soft.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None for me.

Shops own brands of facial tissues can be quite nice. They are really cheap to buy if you use a lot of them and want to keep a box handy around the home. My little grandchildren often have runny noses and recently my grandson came to stay over night and he woke up during the night with a runny nose, so I reached for these tissues. The tissues come in a very basic cardboard box, the box has an oval shape hole at the top of the box. Inside the tissues are a white colour and neatly folded. They are really easy to pull out of the box too, one by one and not a whole lot of tissues coming out at the ... more

Advantages Advantages The tissues are fine for smaller jobs!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Small tissues

You hear the letterbox clang and you make a dash to see if the postie has left you anything remotely interesting. This mornings offering came in the form of a leaflet advising how to ward off swine flu, or how to deal with it should you be unfortunate enough to contract it and Natwest would be delighted to sell us yet another of their very tempting insurance policies !... I know I am slow but I am getting to the point! Here we are trying to Save the Planet, recycle, re-use odd scraps of paper and then wham bam there is half a tree popping through your letterbox! There is some kind of ... more

    Advantages Advantages None

Disadvantages Disadvantages Thin, weak, rough, bad value for money

At first glance, you may think that this Tesco Value product is value for money, as the range suggests. You pay a mere 35p and you get 150 2 ply tissues in a box that is easy to access. In my experience, Tesco Value products are either hit or miss, with a rare few items being middle of the road. Sadly with this one, it's a big miss, in more ways than one. The box is bland and boring, as are all products in the range. If you're worried about appearances, you could always take the tissues out of this box and put them in a separate one for display purposes, I suppose, although if you have a cold ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, Not too bad quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not as soft/strong as other brands

At my work, I only ever buy the Cheap Tesco Value tissues, due to the fact that they are so cheap and good enough for use in the work-place. The tissues cost approximately 68p for a box of tissues which should contain approximately 150 2 ply tissues. The packaging is very simple and is white and red with no fancy pattern or design on it. On the top of the box is a perforated oval shape which you simply tear and lift out which reveals the opening to the tissues. The tissues are white in colour and look reasonably good. It's easy to pull a single tissue out form the box without it getting caught ... more

    Advantages Advantages Inexpensive

Disadvantages Disadvantages Thin, porous, need in excess of one

Tissues are a vital necessity in our family home as we seem to go through a great deal of them and I suspect this is due to having two small children at home. We purchase branded tissues but similarly we also purchase less expensive brands such as Tesco Supermarket’s Basic tissues. These are two ply tissues and come presented in a plain cardboard box with 150 tissues in total encased inside. The top of the box is perforated and this must be removed to allow each tissue to be removed from the box. The box costs 69p and represents superb value for money. regrettably, these tissues are fairly ... more

Advantages Advantages So cheap, you get a lot of tissues for your money

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not soft enough to use constantly for a cold

I pick up a couple of boxes of these Tesco everyday value tissues every week when I do my weekly shop. The cost around 65p, and they are brilliant value for money. You wouldn't think they were part of a value range, they are a good quality box of tissues! They come in a plain card box with the usual everyday value design on them, they actually do not look cheap or like they are in a value range, which is great as I always have a box of these in my bedroom out on show as well as in the front room. These tissues are essential in my household! I use them to wipe my babies nose, or face if he has ... more

Tesco Value Tissues......... These Tesco Value Tissues were just one of the Tesco Value Range I decided to try out on my recent budget-shopping trip and I really think I should not have bothered. They come in at a little over the 50 pence margin, which is considerably cheaper than the rivals in this product such as Kleenex whose single boxes often sell for bordering on the £1.50 pence price range. However, even though the Tesco Value tissues are cheaper in comparison there is not really much more going for them other than this factor. The tissues themselves are a lot darker in colour than my ... more
