I would just like to write a review on a Tesco shredder, I am not quite entirely sure if this is the exact one on Ciao that I shall be reviewing as the one I am going to be discussing is in fact part of the 'Tesco Value' range of goods (that is, the cheap one!). Obviously having bought this in one of my many local Tesco superstores, it only set me back just a mere £5 – but of course this was a number of years ago, and so the price may have altered slightly since then. Every house needs a shredder, but it’s one of those things that I hate spending money on – I mean it isn’t very glamorous is it?! So when I saw this one in Tesco for less than £8, I snapped it up. I have been pretty happy with it ever since, well as happy as you can be with a paper shredder. The shredder is very easy to put together. The mechanism sits on top of the seven litre collection bucket. About a year ago, I had to buy a paper shredder for work - and because we didn't really need an all singing all dancing industrial style shredder so I opted for a Tesco Value Shredder than I bought from TescoDirect for the very reasonable price of £9.14 (which included post and packaging). The shredder itself is very basic looking and simple and I guess it does look fairly "cheap". It's made of opaque black plastic and is fairly light and compact. =Tesco Value Shredder= After having a bad experience with a more expensive shredder, it said it would shred credit cards; it started shredding and jammed, and ruined the shredder. I couldn't find the receipt. Although I have a hand shredder, which is great for an emergency, with 3 adults in the house and the amount of shredding we do, we needed an electric one. I work from home and have a lot of paperwork to get through as well as the household bills to manage and I find that I accumulate stacks of paperwork, doing my own accounts and filing I usually have to have three copies of each document, one for the tax man, one for my accounts and one for my files. The paperwork mounts up and every now and then I have to go through it and get rid of the files, documents and old paperwork, but with security always first on my mind when it comes to puting my paperwork in the bin. What i have found with shredders is that they are great if you have only got a couple of pieces of paper. But if you are like me you and you need to shred loads. This shredder over heats, so it will cut out at random times. I have found this rather frustrating. So I what I will recommend is that this product is good for a people who don't need to shred a lot, maybe for personal use, If you are looking for a cheap office Shredder Stay clear... and buy something that in more heavy duty.
