Advantages Advantages Look good and bargain price

Disadvantages Disadvantages None at all for us

Tesco value Platters Between my husband and I we have five children who are all grown up now but it does mean that family parties and celebrations do tend to be quite large even if we only invite our own children and partners. Whenever we cater for events we always have a huge amount of washing up and although I do have plenty of crockery I always find I do not have enough. These foil platters are only £2.50 for five platters which, for those quick at maths, works out at 50p each. I think that is a fine bargain for what these are. They are a decent size and in fact they are the same size as my ... more

Advantages Advantages Well priced, sturdy, do the job well

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None for me

When we have friends and family around, rather than doing a full meal, we quite often do buffet food so everyone can help themselves. For these occasions, I always keep in a pack of Tesco Value Serving Platters. For the price of £2.50, you get 5 platters in a pack which means that each platter is only 50p, making the pack extra value for money. With them being from the Tesco Value range, you might expect the quality to be quite poor, especially as they are quite cheap but I have been using these for a good while now and have never had a problem with them at all, hence why I keep purchasing ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to use, can be re-used, good price, hold lots of food, raised edges.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages A little thin.

My family is quite a large one and we are split around the country these days. Because of this we meet up a few times a year and we like to have a nice big gathering with lots of food and drink for everyone. Quite often I host these gatherings in my home as where my husband and I live is quite central to other members of the family and so I often end up doing the majority of the food from scratch and buying in many litres of spirits and soft drinks for the kids. I love these gatherings (despite them being expensive) as it means we all get to be together, take some photographs, share some ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great vale

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Nothing

As mentioned in my previous review titled 'Paper, Paper read all about it' my wife and I held a party at our house on Boxing Day. I did my food shop at my local Tesco store, and along with the food, drink and paper plates I also purchased a pack of Tesco Value Platters. This was kind of an impulse buy really, as I just happened to notice the platters next to the paper plates that I was purchasing, and so I decided to give them a try, as I thought it might be nice to arrange some of the food onto platters, rather than have it all on large plates. The platters come in a pack of 5 and they cost ... more

Advantages Advantages Great platters that are strong, robust and look the part

Disadvantages Disadvantages None for me at all, I think these are great simple platters

For a friends recent birthday myself and another friend laid on a bit of a do for her, nothing fancy we just had a few friends around and a few nibbles, a nice cake and alot of drink! We made a few sarnies up, heated up a few sausage rolls and bought a prawn ring and the likes and needed to be able to display the lot nicely on a large table so I bought these in my local Tesco store at 5 of them for £2.50 which was ideal price wise and gave us 5 of them which we needed. The platters are made from a stiff foil and are silver in colour all over them, robust with slightly raised edges to the sides ... more

Last year we had our daughter christened and we did the catering for the party afterwards, we had some plastic trays from previous partuies but we needed to buy some extra ones to put the food on so when I found these in Tesco I though they would be ideal for the job. The platters are from Tesco and they cost £1.88 for a pack of foil platters and you get 5 platters in the packet. The platters are covered with see through thin plastic which is simple to tear off to get the platters out, on the front there is the usual Tesco Value sign in red, white and blue making it obvious that this is a ... more

I just spent time writing a review on this and when I clicked to submit it, it disapeared! grrr So I will try to cover what I had written again. These platters come in a pack of 5 for £2.50 and are sold in tesco. Tesco sell a range of products such as these and plastic plates which would be great for parties and gatherings. These platters are made of foil and so are great to store a range of foods on. I used mine to place samosas, spring rolls, sandwiches, garlic bread etc on and they worked out great. Paper plates can have an issue of having lots of grease marks but I found the foil platters ... more
