    As I am always trying to cut down the cost of my weekly food bills my latest penny pinch was buying the Tesco Value jam as it is mainly only used when I make the boys jam tarts so I thought this would be a good cheap alternative. I can say it was one successful buy and the boys did not even notice the different when they had a bit on their morning toast! ~~PACKAGING~~ The jam comes in a clear glass jar which allows you to see the red jam inside, I like this design as it means I have a clear indication as to how much I have left.     I love cooking and baking and if I say myself I am not too bad a cook or baker lol but my family and friends agree and so I must be because they eat what I cook lol, my grandma taught me how to cook many years ago because she had so many children and passed some of her baking tips onto us all and I have lost a lot of weight recently and so I am able to start having a few more treats now. I buy this jam on a regular basis from Tesco and it is from the Value range of their own branded foods and it comes in a basic, transparent glass jar with a twist off lid, it only cost 38p for a 454g jar ... more

    Tesco value strawberry jams... I get through so much of this stuff! I love it. I don't really see much point in spending loads on a branded jam when tesco do a wonderful jam for a fraction of the price! The last time I checked this jam was selling at about 48p... A bargain!! Each tablespoon contains; .... 37 calories 7.3 grams of sugar a trace of fat and saturates a trace of salt So that is quite a lot of sugar....which could put a few people off. Not me however! I love the sweet taste in this jam and to be honest, I don't think you'd be able to find any other jam which has healthier sugar ... more
