Advantages Advantages Cheap, Sleek, Easy To Use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Big strips,

My sparkly new shredder courtesy of Tesco’s Value range cost me a whole £9.97! Branded as a Strip Cut Shredder, this 7 litre capacity gizmo is brilliant to safely bin all those bank statements and bills which you find years later and no longer need. I had been looking for a cheap shredder to do just that, shred 6 years of bills and statements which I am never going to need. In the traditional white box with blue stripe Tesco Value stamp in the corner, this item was sat amongst the more expensive versions in the “home” section of my local Tesco Extra store. On opening the box, which wasn’t ... more

Advantages Advantages Does the job, cheap and easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesn't cross shred, bit noisy

97Working in an office where my job involves a lot of confidential paperwork, I am well aware of the dangers of leaving paperwork lying around, so am really conscious of shredding anything that has any details of mine on it. I used to have a tiny shredder at home with a windy handy, but this was just something cheap and cheerful and wasn’t great to be honest so I decided to invest in a better quality one. Although I wanted one that was better than my previous one, I also didn’t want to spend much money so I went for the Tesco Value Strip Cut Shredder. This is a decent sized home shredder which ... more

    Advantages Advantages Simple operation, affordable.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not heavy duty, can jam easily.

I have owned a small number of shredders in the past, both manual and electrical ones. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. Generally speaking manual shredders are inexpensive, with electronic powered devices often costing more, also with more potential problems! I came across the Tesco Value 7litre Paper Shredder and Bin and I thought it would give me the best of both worlds, with the inexpensive pricetag and the electrical operation! Priced at around £9 it isn't a very expensive electric powered shredder so I didn't get my hopes up too much with the results. I expected the ... more

I recently decided it was time to clear out my desk and that included sorting out mounds of old bank statements, credit card statements and other documents with important personal information. I decided that the safest way to dispose of all this paper would be to buy a shredder. I knew I didn’t want anything too expensive or difficult to store. During my weekly shopping trip to my local Tesco I spotted a Tesco value shredder at the very reasonable price of £7.97. At this price I felt it was well worth buying especially as it came with a 1 year guarantee. The Tesco value shredder is a very ... more

    Advantages Advantages Works Well

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

After one night when I came home to find that my bin was turned upside down and a bag of poorly torn bills was lying all over my bin bay, I decided the time had come to get a shredder and only having a little amount left at the end of March, decided that a cheap option would be the best. As long as it shredded to some degree it was more protection to me than not. So I looked around and decided that the Tesco Value Range shredder looked right up my street. This cost me only £7.99 in store and I think it may even be cheaper online. This is good value for a basic shredder and especially one that ... more

Advantages Advantages good price, sturdy product, looks nice, quite efficient

    Disadvantages Disadvantages can jam up

I got fed up with having to always tear up bills and other documents that contained personal information so decided to purchase a shredder to make this task much simpler and less time consuming. Having looked around at different shops and online I ended up purchasing this one from Tesco as it was a good price at less than £10 and with this item having a 7litre capacity I thought this would be adequate as it would just be myself who was using it. It comes in a box that has the familiar Tesco value brand logo on it. It was well packaged and easy to remove from the box. The product is black with ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap at under £10

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can easily get jammed if the paper is not put in at a perfect straight angle

Introduction Since turning eighteen two years ago and going into full time employment I started to get alot more important, confidential documents including wage slips and bank statements and they were starting to mount up at home, I knew it wasn’t an option just to throw them in the bin so decided that it was time to invest in a paper shredder. Working at Tesco, while on my lunch break I decided to go and check out what shredders they had on offer an went for the Tesco value shredder as I didn’t want nor need a fancy shredder just one that was going to shred my confidential information. Advantages Advantages It's cheap.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Clogs easily.

I paid £9.97 for this Tesco Value shredder. It's black in colour, sleek in shape and size and shreds five pieces of paper at a time (so it claims). It can be run by mains power and is easy to use and install. It can be a little messy, so make sure you're careful when you empty it as it's far too easy to be covered in shredded paper! The shredder does it's job but it can clog easily so make sure you don't overload it. I shred two or three pieces of paper at the same time as I find that five pieces of paper (A4) can clog the motor and stop the shredder from working. This is a reverse button ... more
