A better 'Value' way to buy tin foil

AdvantagesCheap, wraps foods well

DisadvantagesNot suitable for wrapping sharpish things such as drumsticks

"...I do. Mind you this Tesco Value foil has shot up ridiculously since I started buying it and now costs 80p a roll, whereas it used to be around 38p. That said, all the other kitchen foils are steadily rising in price too so this still just about works out to be the cheapest. It's very thin foil and unless you're an expert at tearing foil straight you'll find you end up with jagged and wonky lines when ripping it directly from the roll. I always use ..." Read review

Cheap foil.

AdvantagesHelps keep food nice and fresh.

DisadvantagesNone.

"I use quite a lot of foil to cover my food so that it keeps nice and fresh. I buy the branded ones and also this one which is from Tesco’s Value range. I find it is always useful to have foil handy so that it is always there when it is needed because a lot of the time some left over food can be covered and then eaten later in the day or the next day. This foil is very basic looking, it does not come in a fancy box, it is just wrapped in a transparent ..." Read review

Tesco value foil

Advantagesfunctional, works as well as more expensive brands for what I need

DisadvantagesNone for me

"...This review is for the Tesco value wrapping foil. The Tesco value branded foil is a very simple looking item to be honest and the packaging used is simply a plastic layer over the top of the tube of the foil. The plastic layer features a red band which is the length of the roll and it tells us that the product is Tesco value wrapping foil. The packaging of the product does make it look cheap I have to say and in many cases this is ..." Read review

Does The Trick

Advantagesgood price, good quality

Disadvantages-

"...seems pointless. This is why Tesco Value's foil is the perfect one for me as it has no fancy packaging which in that sense is good for the environment and also it doe the job like all others and at a fraction of the price. Foil is foil and this is what it is and I was glad to pay under a pound and try it out to see how good it was. ===APPEARANCE=== As I said before, this does look very budget as it comes with no box and is literally just a roil ..." Foily Goodness

AdvantagesCheap, multipurpose

DisadvantagesPackaging

"...When I stumbled across the Tesco Value stuff at about 50p a roll, I decided to give it a go. I love a bargain and how bad can it be? Well the truth is, not that bad actually. The foil is from the Tesco Value range and it follows the no-frills concept to the letter in that what you see is what you get and nothing else; there is no box and no method of cutting the foil, it is simply a shrink-wrapped roll of foil displaying the Value logo. Irritatingly ..." Read review

Tesco Wrapping Foil

AdvantagesDoes everything cheap foil does

DisadvantagesTheres no serrated cutting edge

"...least once. While shopping in Tesco a few weeks ago I picked up a roll of their foil, Its from their Value range and does look very basic but foil only ends up in the recycle bin so I decided to give the bargain roll a try. Tesco Wrapping Foil, as its called, is sold without the usual box and serrated cutter, it just has a clear cellophane wrapping over it. The wrapper has the value logo on it and informs the customer that it is 290mm x 25m. There ..." Read review

Tesco Value Wrapping Foil

Advantagesdoes its job

Disadvantagesa little flimsy, but not too bad

"...careful with it. You can buy Tesco Value Wrapping Foil for 90p, this gets you a roll that is 290mm by 25m. I think that this is great value as it is much cheaper than brand name tin foils and it does the job just as well. Overall I think this is a great value tin foil and is a great way to save money by ditching the more expensive brand names. It is durable and good quality and overall I would give this tin foil 4 out of 5 stars. *also on dooyoo ..." Read review

Good Value

Advantagescheap, does the job

Disadvantagesno cutter supplied

"We get through quite a bit of foil in our house - whether for wrapping up sandwiches for lunches or for covering up leftover food in the fridge, so I like to make sure that we have a couple of rolls in the house. However, it was proving quite expensive to buy so frequently, with branded rolls costing around £1.50 a time. I decided to give Tesco's value range a go, predominantly due to the cost saving at 45p a roll, but also as I have tried other products ..." Read review

Foiled again!

AdvantagesCheap and does what I need it to

DisadvantagesMay be too thin for larger jobs

"...roll, this basic foil from Tesco seemed like a good deal to me!Does the job!As you may expect, this foil comes in very basic packaging - there is no nice cardboard box with a cutter to help you cut the foil - but then when you pay this little you can't really expect all the mod cons! As soon as I unwrapped and first used this foil, I could tell it was thinner than others I have used. But that is to be ..." Read review

Tesco Value Wrapping Foil: Fantastic Economical Foil.

AdvantagesCheap, versatile, doesn't rip or tear during use.

DisadvantagesThin - can take a bit of getting used to. No dispenser / cutter.

"...few years I've been buying Tesco Value foil, which, at 90p per roll, is by far the cheapest option in my local supermarket. The Foil ItselfBefore I started buying this foil I used to buy Tesco's own brand version which is quite a bit thicker, so when I first started using this foil I was struck by how thin and flimsy it felt. I was a little concerned that wrapped sandwiches, for example, might ..." Read review

Cheap but functional wrapping foil

AdvantagesCheap but functions just as well as branded products

DisadvantagesNone for me

"...more basic product in the Tesco value range I no longer see the point of paying through the nose for a branded product. This costs just 90p compared to well over a pound for branded products. Each roll contains 25m of foil – this is quite a lot and a roll can last me several months. It has gone up in price since the start of the year – it used to cost around 50p but the roll is also bigger with 25m of foil compared to 15m. The Tesco ..." Read review

Value Foil!

Advantagesgreat value, works well for wrapping food, keeps baking trays cleaner

Disadvantagesthinner than the more expensive brands

"...quite some time is the Tesco Value Wrapping Foil. The Tesco value wrapping foil comes in a 290Mm X 25M roll and currently costs just £0.90. I think this is excellent value for wrapping foil and certainly makes it an attractive purchase. The packing of the foil is very basic as you would imagine from a value product. The foil is wrapped tightly around a cardboard tube and is simply wrapped in a cellophane wrapper with the red and white Tesco value ..." Read review

Tesco Value Wrapping Foil

AdvantagesCheap and does the job

DisadvantagesNot as thick as other foils

"...tend to pick up the Tesco Value wrapping foil. It is not boxed like many foils are, it is simply wrapped around a cardboard tube and sealed with a clear, cellophane wrapper which bears the Tesco Value logo and nothing more. This isn’t a concern for me though as I always throw the box away anyway as it takes up unnecessary room in my kitchen drawer. The foil is quite thin, thinner than brands I have used in the past such as Bacofoil, ..." Read review

Not faulty foil

AdvantagesKeeps food fresh, great price

DisadvantagesNot as thick as the more expensive ones

"...been trying a lot of Tesco value items recently and this is one of the ones I have tried, in our house I have 2 children to pack up with food for at Grandas everyday and then myself and my husband take food to work with us so foil is something that we tend to get through a lot of. The Tesco value foil is obviously from Tesco as the name would suggest and costs 80p for 30cm by 25m which seems great value until I point out that up until a couple ..." Read review

Great value

Advantagescheap

Disadvantagesthin

"...foil costs 70 p from Tesco and is part of their value range. *Description* The foil comes in a white plastic sheath fitted around the roll of foil. Inside the packaging a roll of foil that is 30 cm wide and 25 m long. I have previously bought my foil in boxes that comes with a lacerated edge so you can pull off a sheet easily. I never get neat edges with this roll as there is it literally is a matter of pulling the foil off in whatever way ..." Read review
