Advantages Detailed island, addictive and fun races, cars graphically beautiful

Test Drive Unlimited is currently available for purchase on the Xbox360 Story As with most racing games there isn't really much of a story in the game, you just drive around a beatiful island completing tasks Gameplay The main base for much of your racing is the island of Oahu in Hawai, you can either drive around and enjoy the sites or you can compete in various races and tasks of which can be found from your map, you start out having to buy a car and a house, and then you can go on to win races which earns you money, you can also earn coupouns by driving the residents of the island to ... more

Amazing game, the Test Drive series gets a much needed boost 18/11/2011

Advantages Massive playing area, great online mode, can buy luxury houses, a lot of cars & bikes available.
Disadvantages None really, unless you dont like driving for a quarter of an hour to each event.

Well i was never fond the of the Test Drive series of games, they never did too well either, TDU was the first TD game to really make a scene and rightly so. It was widely advertised that the game had featured the largest playing area of any driving game ever made, and features over 1000 miles of road. The games road network was made using satellite imagery of the Hawaiian island of O'ahu, however certain roads and highways were removed from their original location, presumably the make the game more enjoyable to play, and flow easier. Advantages Lots of cars, island, Xbox Live challenges, cop chases, cheap
Disadvantages Boring missions, no storyline and bad sound effects!

Test Drive Unlimited is a driving game published by Atari for the Xbox 360 console. I first played the game because my Xbox 360 came with the demo and I played it and really enjoyed it. I loved the cop chases and the lovely island but there were some things I did not like as well. The things I liked: I liked the fact the game had lots of licensed cars (over 100) which look great and really realistic. Advantages Large environment, real cars.
Disadvantages Boring, cardboard graphics, lots of aimless driving.

Ok, I rented this game as I wasn't sure about it's quality, I know that many people have written glowing reviews about this game but I'm afraid I won't be one of them. I was a fan of the early Test Drive Games on previous computer systems and liked the idea of a free roaming map with mission type races and other challenges but somehow Test Drive Unlimited doesn't have quite the apeal I hoped for. Disadvantages Gets quite repetitive, limited room to customise cars

Being a fan of such games as Project Gotham Racing and Need For Speed, I immediately purchased Test Drive Unlimited upon it's release. One of the first things that attracted me to the game was the wide choice of cars and manufacturers, as well as the graphics of the game. The sounds too - there are some games out there where most of the cars sound the same, this is different. The sounds are different for each car, which adds a great atmosphere when racing. For me this game was the only game I played for a long time. The ability to roam 1000 miles of open road and even more off road areas is so much fun. GAMEPLAY When you first start the main game you are instructed to drive to different shops so that you can have a car and a house to start the game. I'v been playing this game for some time now,and personally i like this game. In this version of test drive unlimited you have many Licensed cars in which you can do some customization, you can buy properties so that you can keep your cars, then you can customise your driver & race on the entire Island. As in this its a long race to run , you can alwayd try to find out your own shortcuts . In this there are many races, Special Events & timae trials. When I first heard about TDU I thought this would be a revolutionary game. And MMO with no fee set on an island inhabited by players? Whats not to love! However it isn't as simple as that. For a start, you wont see streets packed with players driving around, players who are in the same area as you are are "loaded" onto you game almost, sure its the real player, but you can only have 8 at a time driving freeroam with you. ive just completed this game so here are my thoughts. If you like cars and bikes you should love this , set on Hawaii you can drive or ride all over the island with no loading times at all , it really is great fun. you get to do races to win money , with your money you can buy faster cars and houses to keep them in. You can even customise your charecter and but them new clothes etc , this really isnt a game you will get bored with. I dont have xbox live so played it entirely offline , which wasnt a problem but i have done all the missions i can and it says something like 45% complete so im ... more
