Advantages Advantages Better for your health...

Disadvantages Disadvantages Costs a little more, always the way...

I am going to be perfectly honest with you here. I love drinking tea; I know my Mam used to put tea in a bottle for me when I was a young child. I love coffee too, but tea has always being my favourite, 'comfort drink.' So when I was off work for around 9 weeks I took to sitting on my laptop in the mornings with a few gallons of tea and then going up to see my Grandma in the afternoon and drinking a few more gallons. So that may be an exaggeration, but not by much! Also, my new pregnancy is orcing me to take better care of myself so I thought, why not try it! I took to thinking about my health ... more

Advantages Advantages A lovely cuppa without the caffeine.

Disadvantages Disadvantages More expensive than normal tetley

A couple of months ago I was having trouble sleeping. I thought about the caffeine I was drinking. Now I’m not a coffee drinker so that was ok. That just left tea. But surely there isn’t much caffeine in a cuppa? Well there’s not. There are approximately 40 to 50mg of caffeine per cup of tea. Still I thought I’d try Tetley’s Decaffeinated Tea. So I managed to remember next time I was shopping to get some. A box of 80 tea bags cost me £1.76, which is more expensive than the ‘normal’ Tetley Tea at £1.37. Still I thought it would be worth it if I could still have my tea and not the caffeine ... more

Advantages Advantages A great way to cut back on that caffeine intake.

Disadvantages Disadvantages More expensive than the ones with the caffeine

I very often read an op and make a mental note to add the product it advocates to my trolley the next time I am in the supermarket, but I must confess I seldom remember to purchase them. In the case of Tetley Decaf I am really glad that I did. Products that contain caffeine are all well and good for some people, but the energy 'rush' that is experienced from drinking too much coffee or those fizzy energy drinks seem to work too well on me and leave me feeling sick and shakey so I try to avoid them if I can, especially first thing in the morning. I have been suffering with an acid stomach and ... more

Advantages Advantages Make a better cup of tea as far as I'm concerned

    Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit expensive

To be honest, I would never have thought of choosing decaffeinated tea bags had it not been for my visit to a Homeopathic doctor several years ago, when I first contracted ME. I was keen to eat the right foods and find out just why I also kept getting ermm....thrush....so I turned to her for alternative help. After asking me various questions and giving me an allergy test, she concluded that I was allergic to several things which I must cut out and along with that, she advised me to drink decaffeinated tea. (I didn't drink coffee, so that was not a problem). The ordinary, caffeinated tea bags ... more

Advantages Advantages Refreshing tea without the caffeine hit.

Disadvantages Disadvantages A little more expensive than tea with the caffeine left in.

Being caffeine intolerant means I can't drink regular tea, meaning that I search out decaffeinated versions, and for me Tetley is certainly one of my preferred brands to purchase. Even having decaffeinated tea, I have to be careful not to have too many cups as there is still a very small amount of caffeine left in the tea even after the decaffeinating process is complete so I tend to limit myself to a maximum of three mugs a day tops. When I first started buying decaf tea, there weren't many brands selling the stuff, Tetley were one of those who did - I'm not sure if they were THE first, but ... more

    Advantages Advantages better for you

    Disadvantages Disadvantages not nice

Tetley Decaffinated tea bags......... We have the option of having decaffeinated tea at work and the other day I thought I would give it a try and make a cuppa with one. I know that they don't cost that much more than the standard Tetley tea bags and the look pretty much the same with the rounded bag which holds the grains inside. I think for a box of around 100 you pay a little under £2 which I think is pretty acceptable. Of course you make up the cup of tea in the usual way by adding any sugar and then pouring on boiled water, then giving the bag a good stir round to let the water colour ... more

    Advantages Advantages Taste, no caffine

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Slightly more expensive

For as long as I could remember I had been given a cup of tea just before I went to bed. It was comforting to have a steaming hot mug of tea before I dozed off...except that I didn't doze off, but stayed awake for hours on end. This reached its peak when I was about 16, on the verge of my GCSEs. Every night I was awake until 2 or 3 in the morning (which didn't make for a very pretty sight the next day in school!!) It was driving me mad. I put it down to stress, but in reality I'd always had trouble getting to sleep and really envied those who could sleep within seconds of their head hitting ... more

3 Stars Quick review of Tetley Decaffeinated Teabags by bmcws 23/05/2007
Not quite as aromatic compared to standard Tetley's. Takes longer to get a brew of a normal strength: My first sip tasted very bland and wondered if I forgotten to put the bag in! I had to put the bag back in for quite a bit longer. The end result is an OK cup of tea, but not quite as tasty or refreshing as 'the real thing'.

    Advantages Advantages Reduced Ankle Swelling

Disadvantages Disadvantages Puts you off normal tea

I have suffered with swollen ankles due to Water Retention for the past few years, it is usually alot worse in the summer. I have visited my GP about it but he gave me no real advice, just a prescription for Diuretics and told me I'd probably have this problem for life. I read somewhere that Caffeine can cause water retention so I decided to give Decaffeinated Tea-Bags a try, I tried every brand in my local Asda, including their own brand and found them all tasteless, and couldn't drink them. The last one I tried was Tetley, I was pleasently surprised, It tasted really nice. Within two days of ... more

    Advantages Advantages No caffeine

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

A couple of weeks ago I found out that I had a sesitivity condition which meant I couldn't have any caffeine or chocolate. I knew this was going to be a problem as I drink coffee two times a day Monday to Friday and tea in the evenings, I also tended to drink a little more Coke and Pepsi than I should have an don't get me started on chocolate. Anway, of course I had to still have my coffee and tea so when I came home from work I discovered that my mum have brought me some decaffienated tea, which I didn't even know you could get. I wasn't too sure that I was going to like it at first but ... more
