Advantages Advantages Easy to use and very powerfull

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can't intigrate or differentiate

I've been using this calculator for the last six years now and it is my favorite model of all Texas instrument calculators. Capabilities: This model is capable of Trig, statistics, multifunction graphing and there are a ton of online programs that can be downloaded to assist in higher level math. In addition literally hundreds of games have been made specifically for the TI-83 model. Functions, Parametric equations, Polar equations, and Sequences can all be graphed using this model. You can also create new executable programs either on the calculator itself or on a computer. The calculator ... more

Advantages Advantages Does anything you could ask it to.

Disadvantages Disadvantages You forget how to do even the most basic maths without it.

The MUST HAVE scientific and graphing calculator in terms of functionality. Having done the International Baccalaureate, my TI-83 was an integral part of my life. Insanely difficult to learn how to use simply because it does so much, once you do learn a few tricks with it you're set to do even the most complex calculations in the blink of an eye, assuming you actually know what you're trying to solve. Being a graphing calculator, it does have a relatively large screen, but in the TI-83 this is only about 6 by 4cm. Still that certainly is good enough to see whether your data forms a curve or a ... more

Advantages Advantages Useful, durable, many functions, graphing, batteries last long

    Disadvantages Disadvantages very big/bulky

This is a great calculator for junior high to high school math. It has many functions even compared to a regular scientific calculator. It can graph which is very helpful. It can do trigonometry functions like "sine". It even has buttons to change the contrast. However, it can be awfully hard to use with all the buttons. It took me several days to get used to it. The calculator itself is very durable. I have dropped it once and it is still the same. However, it can be quite bulky in your hands. This can sometimes be very uncomfortable. It runs on 4 AAA batteries. It also has a place for back ... more

Advantages Advantages Every little detail about the calculator

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Uses batteries

I might be a little young but I have been in many math courses throughout my years since i've always been in advanced math. I remember when I first started in Pre algebra and my teacher said I had to purchase the TI 83 calculator. First I thought "I already have a calculator so why would I buy another one" but once I did my mind changed. I used this calculator in Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, and Pre Calculus... And this calculator helped me easily pass each course and just makes math much more simple for people that dont favor math. So on that note buying the TI 83 is the best choice for ... more
