Advantages: fast and pacy, full of suspense Disadvantages: none!
...Patterson (with Maxine Paetro) is the fifth in his series of 'women's murder club' novels. Each book has a numerical theme in the title (1st to Die, 2nd Degree, etc), so the title of this one - 'The 5th Horseman' - follows the same theme. I have to admit though, that I was not absolutely sure of the relevance of the title until right at the end of the book when all becomes clear! The same main characters appear in all five books, but even though there ...

Advantages: Fast paced and a return to form Disadvantages: Bit short
...some distinctly average attempts in the recent past I’m pleased to say that in my opinion The 5th Horseman is a welcome return to the previous high standards that Patterson has achieved as a thriller writer. Admittedly this book continues the trend of writing with a co-author, in this case Maxine Paetro, which usually signals a drop in quality but with this fifth instalment to features the Women’s Murder Club Patterson has served up a gripping fast ...

Advantages: Fast paced, complex and exciting Disadvantages: Not an Alex Cross book, but excellent anyway
This is the fifth in a series of crime mysteries by James Patterson, involving the Women's Murder Club. Patterson is perhaps better known for his Alex Cross series - "Kiss the Girls" and "Along Came a Spider" were both made into movies.
Each Murder Club novel stands perfectly well on its own and can easily be read in any order. They can easily be identified by their titles which each include a number - "1st to Die", "2nd Chance" etc.

...you out there who love the amazing work of Mr James Patterson as much as I do then you will probably buy this book whatever the reviews say anyway because you know it is just going to be fan dabby doozle!
But I can safely say that JP has done it again. With the exception of maybe two books over the many that he has written I have loved every single one of them. Full of suspense, thriller, mystery, a bit of love and S.E.X now and again and the chapters ...
