    I have always enjoyed Rowan Coleman's books so I'm always pleased when I spot a new one of hers. I was especially pleased when I picked up The Accidental Family because I realised it is a sequel to one of her earlier books - The Accidental Mother. I had read this a while ago and really enjoyed it so it was interesting to see what happened to the characters afterwards. Having said that though, The Accidental Family can be read as a stand alone novel although it does have an added value if you read The Accidental Mother first.     Advantages Advantages Easy to read, good story

    Disadvantages Disadvantages slightly predictable

    The Accidental Family takes up the story 6 months after The Accidental Mother ends. Sophie is living as a permanant resident in a Cornwall B&B, afraid to make the next step and move in with Louis and the girls. Having given up her career to spend more time with Bella and Izzy, skeletons in both her and Louis closets makes her re-evaluate her decision.... I think any woman who has seen her identity slip as a result of having children can identify with Sophie's character to some degree, although it does get a bit farcical and unrealistic in places.
