Advantages Advantages Good value for money and effective

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

Up until early last year, the thought of exfoliating my lips had never occurred to me. That is until I stumbled across the Lush lip scrubs. I fell in love, bought them all and used them regulary. One day, for whatever bizzare reason (I think it was mainly curiosity!) I ended up eating around 1/3 of the jar.. it's described as edible after all and is made from oil and sugar. Unfortunately I was violently sick the same day, and it put me off the lip scrubs for life - I can't stand the scent of them at all now, especially the bubblegum one and I gave them to one of my friends who is a Lush addict ... more

Advantages Advantages removes dead skin, feels nice

Disadvantages Disadvantages doesn't really moisturise, makes my lips feel tight

I bought this product in the hope that it would cure my lips of their permanently dry, flaky appearance, which no amount of balm, gloss or anything else seems to have an impact on. It costs £7.80, which is about what I would expect to pay for this type of product, just as long as it works. It comes in a lovely looking lipstick style tube, which is much nicer than the old version pictured above. It’s a black plastic tube with a silver metallic effect lid, which looks very stylish and high quality. It’s a twist-bottom tube, which you just twist to get the product to the top of the tube so you ... more

Advantages Advantages Removes flaky skin on lips, nice taste

Disadvantages Disadvantages Gritty pieces can sting, doesnt moisturise very well

Whilst looking around the shops the other week, I decided to see if I could find anything for my lips which had become quite dry and flaky. I ended up buying two products – Blistex revitalising cream and the body shop lipscuff. I have decided to use the body shop stuff first properly as the Blistex one you have to put on before bed etc and it is strong stuff, and im to tired at bedtime to fuss over my lips at the moment. PRODUCT The body shop lipscuff is basically a minty flavoured lip balm with small gritty pieces in it. You are supposed to use it like any other lip balm but the gritty pieces ... more

Advantages Advantages Unique product, smells amazing, instantly restores lips to a great condition

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slightly pricey, can look odd on the lips colour-wise

--What does the promo say?-- "A moisturising lip care product that gently exfoliates the lips to help remove dead skin cells, leaving the lips feeling smooth, soft and conditioned which evens the surface of the skin to better absorb lip colour, making it last longer. Dermatologically tested." --Packaging-- Sleek, unisex and very very handy. Has a silver lid and a black base, with the Body Shop logo burnished onto the slanted top of the lid. --Application-- As you would a normal lip product: pull off the lid and apply directly to the lips. --Appearance-- The stick itself is green, but on the ... more

Advantages Advantages Gently exfoliates dead skin cells.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Granules can get in your mouth.

I recently purchased The Body Shop's Lip Scuff (£7.50) and am absolutely thrilled with it! At the time the price seemed a little expensive for my budget, but having used it I feel that it is worth every penny. It works as an exfoliant for the lips, using crushed fig stone granules to gently remove dry and flaky skin. It has a mild, minty aroma to it, helping to sooth sore lips and contains two moisturising agents, marula oil and organic beeswax, to keep lips soft and supple. I bought the Lip Scuff because of my eczema and although the instructions say to use one to two times a week or as ... more

Advantages Advantages powerful scrub - makes lips smooth in an instant

Disadvantages Disadvantages contains menthol - potential irritant

It's very often that we concentrate on skincare so much but we forget to take proper care of our lips. A lipbalm alone might not be enough to ensure us smooth kissable lips - we need to exfoliate them as we exfoliate our skin! Lip exfoliation is even more important for those of us who live in an agressive environment: too dry or too humid (yes, external humidity actually dries out out skin and lips!), or extreme temperatures. Wind is also a major factor that affects the health and look of our lips. The Body Shop came with a very good product: - easy to use: an exfoliator that comes in a ... more

Advantages Advantages Lovely smell, Very soft

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not tough enough, Too soft, Over expensive,

The Body Shop Lipscuff - £8.00 I was looking for a lip scrub as I constantly have dry chapped lips, and I had a new lipstick that requires I have buffed lips. I had some vouchers for BodyShop so i decided to go there and the staff recommended this item and a lip conditioner to go with it. Did this product meet my expectations? It didn't work on me, and I feel it is too soft and doesn't have enough of the ex-foliating product in it. The lip conditioner was amazing but I didn't get the full benefits of it due to the scuffer not removing enough of the dead skin. I loved the smell and the ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages Made my lips sting

I managed to get this lip scuff stick in the sale. I find the body shop very expensive but on sales sometimes you can get lucky. My lips are always very dry, especially in winter and so i thought i'd try something new and get the dryness off before conditioning. It cost me around 50p which i thought was a bargain. However,as soon as i put it on i had to get it off straight away.It burned and stung my lips like mad!It has a strong smell and the little rough bits they put in it just tore my dry skin, making my lips more sore and in worse condition. It's needless to say i won't be using it again ... more

Advantages Advantages gentle and removes dead flaky skin

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none really

This stuff was brilliant, I bought it on the recommendation of a magazine. I bought it because my lips were always flaky and it wasn't nice, I had tried things I had read about such as going over my lips with a tooth brush but I found that was too harsh and made them sore. When I bought this though it was gentle on my lips and got rid of the flakiness. I love it and would recommend it to anyway wit flaky lips, but don't forget to use vaseline or a lip balm to moisturise your lips afterwards or they could become dry and flake even worse! ... more

5 Stars Quick review of The Body Shop - Lipscuff by wench68 22/08/2007
This is an item I couldn't live without! It costs about £8 from the Body Shop, which I think is a bit outrageous, despite it being so good. However, I always buy mine off Ebay and never pay more than a fiver. My lips gets REALLY dry and flaky and lipscuff has them sorted within a day or two! I apply it like i'm applying lipstick, gently massage it over my lips with my finger, then use a face cloth to remove it. Afterwards, I use the Body Shop mango lip balm which smooths and soothes perfectly. My lips are usually ... more
