The grapefruit is a subtropical citrus tree grown for its fruit which was originally named the "forbidden fruit " of Barbados. Currently, the grapefruit is said to be one of the "Seven Wonders of Barbados." Grapefruit is one of my favourite flavours and fruits and as such I always tend to go for that flavour when I am buying body lotions. One of my favourite lotions as per previous reviews is the Body Butters from the Body Shop ... ...We are all aware of the ethical beauty store, The Body Shop which was founded by Anita Roddick in the 1970's. It now has over 2,000 stores in 54 countries and is the second largest cosmetic franchise in the world.
It is known for its global issues around the world and makes sure that its products are not tested on animals, defend human rights etc. Apparently by the end of 2008 65% of their products will contain community traded ingredients. In 2006 ...

Scintillating? Twinkle ye not over Papaya!

Advantages: Creamy, Works, Uni-sex Disadvantages: Smell isn't too appealing
Since the age of three I have suffered with eczema which varies from itchy to extremely uncomfortable, depending of the amount of physical activity I do, temperature, clothes I wear and shower products I use. For years my mum trekked me off to the doctors to receive ointments that while targeting the problem momentarily only left my skin drier and flakier than before and with harsh ingredients I often found that I would get mild allergic reactions ... ...I admitted to myself that the fight against eczema was one that I could win and waved the white flag. It wasn't until I bought a house with my wife and found every spare inch covered in Body Shop products that I discovered Coco butter Body Butter, a rich, creamy skin moisturiser that smells faintly of vanilla. Instantly after years of scratching, bleeding and flaking my skin finally felt hydrated, less taut, appeared to be significantly less red ...

Advantages: Smell, feel, community trade Disadvantages: Price
...I hotfooted it straight down the high street to see what lovely item I could get (without parting with any of my own cash)!
Looking through all of the gorgeous Body Butter testers for a while, I found I kept coming back to the scrumptious smell of the passion fruit one. Finally I realised I had to have one for myself so that I could smell it every day!!
Now, I will readily admit that I am not that loyal to any particular beauty brand, but I've ... ...so gentle, and all of the others due to their being so natural and smelling so lovely.
One of the massive advantage points of this body butter (and all of The Body Shop products) is that they are also ethically sound. You can always feel 100% less guilty when you buy their products compared with other brands, due to their 'Community Trade' initiative.

...sometimes. Cracked lips. The bane of my life. I live in a coastal area and to be honest I think I suffer more because of this, the weather is harsh and the wind gets up to gale force a lot of the time. So short of covering myself in vaseline all the time what options are there. I always used to use Lypsyl. Then for some reason I went off the taste of it. I have been looking around for a good alternative and wandered in to The Body Shop a few weeks ... ...I wrote my op hence the delay.

Packaging
Very plain as you would expect. It comes in a clear plastic tub with a sticker on the top with The Body Shop, the flavour and the name on it. No fuss, no frills. Price
It costs £3 for a 10ml pot which is a little expensive since you can get Lypsyl for 99p.
Does it work
Yes!! It does. I've been using it for a while now and my lips have never been softer, yay!

Advantages: Soft subtle skin, Nice smell, enviormentally friendly, nice packaging (un-girly) Disadvantages: a bit expensive
After trying The Body Shop Hemp Lip Protector (see rave), I really wanted to try some other products from this range. So my next choice was the Hemp Body Butter.
The packaging boasts 'Spread serious moisture. This ultra-rich, all-over body butter with moisturising hemp seed oil deals direct with dry skin'

Its made for dry to very dry skin but works great on my normal skin. ... ...a bit expensive but although the tub is small the actual amount of product you need to apply is very small and the tub will last you a long time. ...on a special offer with the Body Scrub products (of which I bought the Mango flavoured one), on a 'buy 2 for £10' offer. (My memory is the tiniest bit hazy, but I'm pretty sure this was the price.) I stood in the store and smelt every flavour trying to decide which one I liked the best, eventually deciding on Papaya. It was a hard decision as a lot of the flavours smell a lot like they're supposed to, I particularly liked the Mango and Passion Fruit ... ...lot of choice. I chose the Papaya one because it really does smell lovely, really fruity and almost edible. To be fair I'm not entirely sure what a Papaya fruit does smell like, but the Body Shop version is very nice. The Body Butter comes in a circular pot with a screw top lid; about 15-20cm in diameter. The Papaya pot is orange, but each flavour has a different colour. You get 200ml (6.9oz / 196g) in a pot, which is all written in white on the ...

...moisturiser, and I stumbled across the body shop range, I was in heaven. I have used many lotions in the past, but none have seemed thick enough......I have quite often resorted to body oils, which have their own disadvantages......

Advantages: smells brilliant Disadvantages: cost - although you get what you pay for
I've been using the Bodyshop body butters for over a month now and I really don't think my first review did them sufficient justice.
At the beginning of March I was approached by a friend who had just started working for the bodyshop, organising parties. This basicaly involved her investing around £75 in a selection of bodyshop products (at a very discounted rate by the look of what she got) and attending a couple of training sessions with a more ... ...loopy about the products she was trying to sell us as and although it was her very first party she managed to make a profit - and me being the host came away with some freebies.
The thing that she really took a lot of time demonstrating to us was the body butter, I tried Shea, Coconut & Cocoa butter and the time and ended up buying a tub of the cocoa butter. All of the varieties smelled exactly as they were meant to - almost good enough to eat.

The Body Shop have ten Body Butters ranging from Olive to Honey to Soy to suit the diverse range of skin from oily to dry. Stating that "Skin will soak up and savour the ultra moisturization that this range of Body Butters provides"

The Packaging is a nice creamy colour like the body butter inside it. Available from The Body Shop at £9 for a 200ml tub it is rather expensive, but they have an offer on at the moment where you buy 2 products for £15.

Advantages: natural, original, reasonably priced Disadvantages: bit formulaic in presentation
Where would we be without the body shop?
Remember back in the 70s and 80s when beauty meant animal cruelty, anonymous chemical ingredients, high prices and only a couple of limited ranges for cranks who prefered something more natural? Anita Roddick's pioneering business changed all that, and whilst many might argue she's turned into a global capitalist in her own right I still really enjoy the sensation of walking in to one of her shops.

The queen of hair serums for dry, coarse hair.
This is the best serum I have used over the last 15 years and my experience has included a lot of pricey salon and high street brands.
What sets this product apart?

Quick review of The Body Shop Range
Body Shop Body Butter is easy to use and apply. My favourite is the Coconut body Butter. It leaves your skin feeling soft and fresh. Since using the Body Shop products I've noticed such a big difference in my skin tone and people often ask what I'm wearing as it smells nice all day long. ...
