My other half suffers from problem skin as she has blackheads, open pores, spots and boils all over her face, neck and back. She's always had it bad but it got worse after she had out little lad and while she was pregnant and breastfeeding. She has oily skin and the parts of her face which do not have spots, pimples or boils is pock marked with holes scarring from years of acne. She doesn't have a lot of confidence in her appearance but unfortunately, unlike me, she is unable to grow a beard to hide her embarrassment. She's on some medication from the doctor now and has been for months but it ... more

Advantages Advantages Not tested on animals, gentle, leaves skin looking and feeling much softer, cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages Smells antibacterial, limited instructions on how to use

THE PROBLEM I am lucky in that I have never experienced a serious acne problem. However, my skin is often red and blotchy before I plaster it with foundation and other cosmetics. This often gets worse through out the day, especially if I have the wind in my face. I also get blackheads on my chin sometimes and on the sides of my nose (sorry for the gory details) where it gets particularly greasy. THE PRODUCT The Body shop introduced the Tea tree oil range recently (within the last year or so). Although, I’m a frequent Body Shop shopper I’d never really taken much notice of it, until I read some ... more

My Skin Generally I have pretty good skin. I don't get many spots but occasionally I do get a few, usually the kind that you can feel coming up for days before they actually make an appearance. I have recently noticed that around certain areas of my face I have quite congested skin, with open and blocked pores. I don't think it's noticeable to other people but it does bother me. The blocked pores bother me a lot more than the spots. The spots, while annoying and unattractive are rare but the congested pores are a consistent problem that I can't seem to get rid of. Tea Tree Facial Wash I ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages looks green, but they say the worst is always the best (well something like that)

....well then I think it's time you got yourself a new spot busting product 'cause yours is obviously not working, is it? Situation 1: You wake up in the morning. You have a shower, you feel great, all soapy and clean. The world is so going to love you today, oh yes! You get out and dry yourself off. You go to the mirror to brush your teeth, when suddenly you hear the music from Psycho (you know the shower scene) You stare. Wot or who put that great big yellowy creamy spot right in the middle of your face? You think 'that's it, how can I possibly face the male population looking like this?' ... more

Advantages Advantages Clean, Clear, Shine free skin

Disadvantages Disadvantages May dehydrate dry skin, but has been fine on my dry skin.

-- Reasons for buying -- This facial wash came in a gift set amongst other tea tree products. My mum bought it for me, as recently my acne has flared up again and she had heard this was really good as getting rid of it. -- The claim -- The face wash is said to remove excess oil without drying the skin, to remove impurities and is cynically proven to give clearer looking skin. -- Appearance -- The facial wash is green and comes in a transparent plastic bottle, with a flip open lid. Around the centre of the bottle is a sticky label showing the brand logo, some information about the product and ... more

I think tea tree oil is a brilliant beauty product and one that is very good in improving the health and look of your skin. In fact there have been studies to prove just how amazing it is. According to an article I read, Tea tree oil, or melaleuca oil, is a pale yellow colour to nearly clear essential oil with a fresh camphoraceous door. It is taken from the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia, which is native to the northeast coast of New South Wales, Australia. The article goes on to list all the health and medicinal benefits of this product and its truly amazing what it can do. Apparently ... more

The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Wash I'm always on the look out for a good facial wash and have many in the bathroom as I am not loyal to one brand but having said that I do like to buy the body shop products. Whilst looking in the body shop I spotted a nice bottle of Tea Tree facial wash and tea tree is so good for the skin I thought I'd buy it and try it. The bottle is clear and you can see the liquid inside which is green much like all tea tree products, the body shop use packaging which is recyclable which I like and their products are not tested on animals, so usually you will pay a little ... more

If you want to get rid of spots without spending loads of dosh, then this is the product for you. I started to use the Body Shop Tea-Tree Oil facial wash about 5 years ago when I was 14 and haven’t looked back since. With all those hormones flying around I decided it was time to do something about the growing number of spots I was getting. After first trying the popular products such as clearasil my mum told me to use Tea Tree Oil. Although it is not guaranteed to get rid of all your spot and skin problems but is by far the best I have used. There is a technique to using it however ... more

I am 15 and am atcually very lucky in that unlike my older brother james, i dont have spots and i never have got many. I owe this fact to my religious use of the Body Shop's excellent tea tree oil facial wash! I used to sit in the bathroom and watch my brother (now nearly 17) apply spot cleanser after spot cleanser on to his skin in the hope that one of them might do what they're supposed to. He would spend over £25 on designer products as well as trying other products that claim to get rid of spots. None of them worked until he tried using the Body Shop's tea tree oil. Seeing the effect it ... more

Advantages Advantages Got mine for a very cheap price, quick and simple to use, smells nice, works well.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive at full price for a basic tea tree facial wash.

At Christmas time there were a number of 'glitches' on the Body Shop website and this lead to me being able to order a number of Body Shop items for just under £1.00 per bottle. I used these bottles to make up gift bags for Christmas and saved myself a fortune as well as providing the people that I love with some gifts that I would other possibly not be able to afford with my normal Christmas present budget. I had one of each item left over after finding a different gift for one of the people I was going to present a gift bag full of goodies too and therefore I have decided that rather than ... more
