As a child I loved Enid Blyton’s Faraway tree stories, so when I spotted a copy of the Folk of the Faraway tree at my local car boot sale I was very excited! I happily paid my 20p and hurried home to start reading the story to my 5-year-old son. The Story. ********* Joe, Beth and Frannie move to the country when their father gets a new job. Exploring their new area they discover an enchanted wood right on their doorstep. The wood is home to wonderful, Magical characters such as elves and talking rabbits. Advantages Advantages The characters are great for the child & adult. The concept is also easy to understand and love!

Disadvantages Disadvantages I dont have any disadvantages. This book is amazing!

The idea of the book is great and the whole series have been passed down in our family. The book is great for adults and kids, the kids will find it a great read and adults will find bits that are very funny. I still love to read this book even though I am fully grown up. Its an easy read for children ages 4+.The tales of the Enchanted Forest sees Joe, Beth and Frannie having to endure a visit from the selfish and spoilt daughter of their mums friend. Curious Connie is prim and proper and considers all she hears about enchanted forests and magic trees as nonsense, deriding the three happy ... more

Advantages Advantages Works the imagination. Excellent read.

Disadvantages Disadvantages It has an End!

This is the third book in the faraway tree series and is written in much the same way as The Enchanted Wood and The Magic Faraway Tree. All the same characters are in this book except Cousin Dick has been replaced by Curious Connie who is a spoiled little girl of the childrens mother. If you haven`t come accross The Enchanted Wood or The Magic Faraway Tree I advise you read these two first as they are a series of books. THE STORYLINE Three children have moved from the town with their mother and father. Father had got a new job in the country. They live in a little cottage just down a lane from ... more

I was fascinated with the magical and enchanted woods.Jo, Bess, Fanny are a wealthy family who moved to the countryside nothing is menchaned off there pasts. The children are written in as almost perfect children who rarly raise there voice to each other. This time they have a new cusion how is a spoilt horrid ,fussy winger, who doesnt belive. The story starts almost straight away and in to the focal of the story. Most of the characters live in huge 500year old +tree. The charactors are ... more
