    It has been such a long time since we decided to call The Garage Door Company for a quote, but after what must have been more than 3 months, I finally have my new doors. I would say I am about 80% happy with the doors themselves, but 100% dissatisfied with the service and communication of The Garage Door Company throughout the period. I would NOT want to pay for any service from them ever again, and would strongly recommend others to avoid using them.     A rep from the garage door company came out promised the world and stated that everything that I required from the door side upvc panels and fascias could be delivered and fitted. A fitting date of 3rd June 2011 was agreed and a deposit paid. I was impressed with the initial promises of what could be done and to what standard. On the date of the fitting the fitters came out and went onto heavily criticise the manager who gave the quote and did the measurements.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Product not as good as described. Customer service appalling.

    We needed new garage doors and The Garage Door Company appeared to be the obvious choice. A recognised company with what appeared to be a good range of doors and knowledge.The initial contact in the showroom went well with the sales person answering our questions with a good amount of knowledge that our particular needs would be met without issue. We decided to purchase the top of the range side hinged timber Cardale style door with all availiable options including fur pack and high security bolts.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Very poor customer service. They were rude on the telephone. Very unreliable and poor workmanship.

    I have had no end of problems with this company, who are very incompetent and have no idea of what customer service is. The survey went reasonably well. A date was arranged for installation of the door, however the installation team failed to turn up at all. As a result, I lost a day from work for no good reason. A second date was arranged and, although they were good enough to turn up this time, they were over 4 hours late. Once the garage door was installed, I found that the door wouldn't even lock.     Disadvantages Disadvantages The call-out charge was a bit steep.

    My garage door developed an intermittent fault and the Garage Door Company sent out two young men to investigate. The fault being intermittent, of course it worked perfectly for them every time and stopped working again as soon as they left. On the second visit they continued to pursue the problem asking questions, discussing it between themselves and making phone calls. I was so impressed with Jamie and his partner. They were polite, persistent and resourceful. They eventually found the problem by phoning the manufacturers of the motor and were then able to fix it quickly and simply. Many ... more

    Our garage door broke so we decided to replace it. We got 3 quotes the last one been The Garage Door Company. There salesman came out was very knowledgeable and went through the different options with us. We decided on a insulated roller door, we paid a deposit and was given a 3 week lead time. After 2 week we got a call from there office saying the door was in stock and booked us in for the Installation the following Friday.     I echo some of these reviews. My door took a few phone calls before it was fitted and then they had to come back as it wasn’t done right. But i had to use TGDC again as the door got damaged and needed repair. They came out quickly to price up the Job and gave me a over inflated price at first but then dropped it by nearly half when i protested. so the date was set for the door to be fitted. That day cam and past with no word from them. so i called them and was told the fitter was sick and they needed to reappoint it to next week (10 days after the first appointment).     ORDERED A DOOR AND AFTER 6 WEEKS HEARD NOTHING, CALLED AND WAS ASKED "OH DID YOU WANT A HOLE FOR THE KEY?" NO, I DID NOT, THE REP WAS GIVEN ALL INFO. 3 WEEKS LATER, 2 MEN ARRIVE, FIT DOOR AND TELL ME " CAN'T FIT THE WEATHERSTRIPD DOOR HAS NOWHERE TO FIT IT TO" THEY RIPPED OUT THE REMOTE I HAD ON THE WALL, LEFT THE CABLE STAPLES ON THE GARAGE FLOOR, OUR DOG FOUND THEM, CHEWED ONE & GOT STUCK IN HER MOUTH !     When we decided on new garage doors we had a visit from the surveyor. It all went wrong from the begining. We were missold hinged doors that were totally unsuitable for our gradient site. Even when we pointed out the gradient we were promised that the doors would be suitable. At the point of installation in Aug 11, it became apparent that a fundamental error had been made in the survey. We were unable to gain access to our garage for 2 months. 53 phone calls were made, emails ignored. We were just left with door that were not even secure to the frame.     Disadvantages Disadvantages In our case they have been extrememly inefficiient. Our doors take MUCH longer than the promised 2

    We ordered 2 doors in May. One standard size and the other to be made to measure. The first delivery brought 2 doors the wrong size, so they took them away. We have chased and phoned and eventually the standard one arrived - after 2 months. But we're still waiting for the second one - and it's 3 months now. We thought that maybe our order would be prioritised after that ..... They say they will phone back and we have to phone them. They arranged delivery yet again and then cancelled at 10 minutes notice. That is after my husband has arranged his day about being here incase it's the wrong size ... more
