When I was a young child I used to love reading, I always had my head stuck in a book. And usually that book would have been something that was written by Roald Dahl. This was when I was about seven or eight. I used to love his books, I couldn't get enough of them. I loved the light hearted, jolly and lively way in which they are written. Last night I wanted a light read; therefore I looked through my huge collection of books and found my complete new set of Roald Dahl books. I selected the thinnest at approximately 71 pages long and went off to bed. I was very tired but I found the book so amusing I could not put it down. Illustrated wonderfully by Quentin Blake just the glorious drawings kept me awake. This is a wonderful book by children's author Roald Dahl. He capures hearts minds and imaginations with his stories, and this tale is no exception. It focuses on 'me' who is a young boy, who dreams of owning a sweet shop. We never learn the name of the main character, who also acts as a narrator, which lends the book a magical air - any child reading it can imagin themselves in the position of 'me' and make the story their own.
