    4 Stars A 'royally' funny show - excuse the pun! Review with images 01/08/2006

    Advantages Advantages Funny, shown a lot, still being made

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

    King of Queens is a program that, intially, when I flicked through my favourite channels, I'd leave on for a few minutes before turning over to find something I was more familiar with. But as always happens, I watch a new show - then I get hooked. I watch this show daily, despite having seen several of the episodes before. Before I get into what its about, I'd like to point out that its set in Queens, NYC - it took me a while to work out why it was called 'King of Queens', so I thought I'd give you a headstart! The base of the story is your average married couple, Carrie and Doug Heffernan ... more

    Advantages Advantages Funny, good characters

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

    King of Queens is an American sitcom set in New York. The King in question is Doug Heffernan and the Queens they relate to is actually the suburb of New York he lives in with his wife Carrie. I think this title is a really clever play on words and sets the scene for quite a funny sitcom in my opinion. Doug and Carrie are the main couple in this sitcom and it’s really them that the whole show revolves around. They have a nice relationship but bicker like most couples and they really play on each others stereotypes to get the laughs out of the audience. For example Doug is rather fat and so they ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great actors, lots of comedy and small bite size episodes

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None for me

    ~~~King of Queens~~~ After I became addicted to quite a few other American tv shows on the Comedy Channel (formerly Paramount) I found another of my favourite treats named The King of Queens. For those of you that have never heard of or seen the show it follows an Doug and Carrie a somewhat ordinary couple living in Queens, New York. Doug is happy to live in his shorts as a courier for IPS, eating fast food, watching sports and goofing around with his friends. Whereas Carrie is aiming for the top with her job as a secreary for a law firm which is a good thing because she likes the finer things ... more
    3 Stars Hmmm.... 09/08/2000
    Advantages Advantages Leah Remini is great....
    Disadvantages Disadvantages ....Kevin James not so.
    Another couple-based comedy with it’s influences invariably all-over-the-place. It’s bombastic opening theme yet very short title sequence is borrowed (at least in style) receptively by way of ‘Seinfeld’ and ’Frasier’. Kevin James is the leading man and he is invariably very weak although funny as delivery man Doug Hefferman. Leah Remini (who some may remember as the mother who was giving birth in ‘Friends’, who was comforted by Joey) makes a delightful sidekick as his wife Carrie, whose sharp tongue is welcome in this unremarkable comedy. And we have Jerry Stiller doing his occasionally ... more
    The King of Queens revolves around Doug Heffernan (Kevin James), a New York parcel delivery guy whose lives in Queens with his wife Carrie (Leah Remini). Doug sanctuary is his garage which houses his pride and joy, a 70" tv, a present from his wife. However, Dougs little love nest is invaded by Carries father in law Arthur ( Jerry Stiller) when he refuses to live in a nursing home. Dougs TV room becomes Arthurs bedroom and the couples privacy is shattered by the very eccentric father in law. Doug and Carrie find refuge in their loving relationship, but peace and tranquility are hard to find ... more
