The Money Club

Most of the responses to this thread seem to come from people that are either not members or people that have not fully taken advantage of the Money Club's services. Like a gym membership, it won't do you any good if you don't use it and the benefits are not always instant. I joined after the club was recomended to me by a friend. ...just answered my mobile to the most rude and pushy sales person I have ever had the misfortune to speak to. I am usually very good in dealing with these types of people and manage to get them off the phone almost straightawy. NOT THIS ONE!!! He was so pushy and persistant,, and has ALL THE ANSWERS... Upon registering, I too called them to find a cheap insurance quote. They provided said quote as a photocopied standard document and tried to steer me towards buying the most expensive policy without fully answering all the standard insurance questions - what's the excess, is my laptop insured etc etc. Needless to say, I didn't take out the policy and found much cheaper, more comphehensive cover elsewhere! Upon cancelling my account with them, I called up and cancelled. A few months later, £120 is taken from my account by The Money Club. I call their line and my account is still open and cannot get a refund. It looks as though they palmed me off and then take my money - DO NOT TOUCH THEM! THEY LIE!!! ...

I was contacted by the money club and after telling the telly sales person that I have been a member in the past and have had no real benifits he continued to persist with how good the service was. As I explained that I had been getting better deals online he cut me off which I though was very rude and was very anoyed with the way they go around trying to sign people up. I would no join them even if they paid me too!!! Most of the time you get better deals on line and they are not at all helpful and I think they need to teach there telesales marketing team some manners. ...

I have just cancelled my memebership 6/11/07 which on my memebership letter was the last day i could cancel and still get my £89 back to be told that no i would NOT be getting it back as my free memebership expired on 5/11/08. so i re read my letter even told them what it said to be told we're keeping your money anyway! so cancelled both membership and direct debit so they had no chance of taken money out, to go to ...

Wow.. I'm amazed! I'm in my second year of being a member with the money club and i can't beleive they're getting bad reviews. I have always been a bit dubious of joining membership schemes (Gym membership.. now thats a scam!) but the money club really works. I just give them a call with my enquiry and they come back to me with the cheapest price.. its as simple as that! And if its after 6, then i use their website and still save money (I've just recieved a cheque for £153.75 for cash back that i've earned on my orders - Great xmas present). My advice would be to give them a try. I did and i'm still a member. ...

I tried the money club on a satisfaction guarantee bases. To say the least I was not satisfied. This club promised great saving straight from the manufactures. When I questioned this on a camera I was after, I recieved what I term has cop out, excuses. I asked for my money to be refunded.of which I eventually got back after several e mails and numerous calls. The last one threatening them with both the trading standards and legal action. After feeling pressured over the phone, I joined The Money Club. I felt that I could not put the phone down on them as they rang me at work. I was assured that the joining fee was a one-off payment and assumed that this was covered by the £~80 taken out of my account on the first day. What I was not told was that the payment came in two parts and that I would be charged again two months later; when I wrote to complain, they did not address my complaint ...
...They can provide nothing for you that you cannot find yourself online and with less effort. For your joining fee you get nothing more than a shiny-looking introductory package (merely advertising their other features) and then several junk mails (advertising their credit card). Attempting to cancel their service is a pain and it is hard to see this as anything other than a scam. ...

had phone call last year informing me of the company, and paid £80 pound for introductory offer, heard nothing since, a further £120 taken out by direct debit. on phoning customer services advised to send email, but wouldnt cancel my membership??? or refund my money, i have never used them as i have never received anything from them. so in effect have paid £200 pounds for making 1 phone call and receiving one phone call. could say i am a bit miffed!!!! ...

WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT THIS COMPANY? I HAD A SALESMAN RING ME ONE EVENING , HE TRIED TO BEFRIEND ME BY SAYING HE WAS ORIGINALLY FROM MY HOME TOWN BUT MOVED AWAY WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER!!! THEN HE GAVE ME HALF AN HOUR OF FLANNEL, WHICH TO BE HONEST I WAS QUITE INTERESTED UNTILL HE ASKED FOR MY BANK DETAILS..I REFUSED, HE THEN STARTED TO GET A BIT AGGRESSIVE SO I HUNG UP, THAT WAS THAT I THOUGHT. Upon asking for a quote for car insurance they gave us, a number to call to see if they could do us a deal!!!!They promised to find us the best price of a product by cutting out the middle man.....and yet I found cheaper item's by doing the leg work myself.......the sales assisant never even mentioned that they were basically a search engine. I recommended a friend to the Money Club, however he alerted me to this site and I had to add my review. I have been a member of the Money Club for five years. I have always found them to be very helpful. They have save me time and thousands of pounds. I have brought many household items includind a fridge, washing machine and my proud and joy, my plasma wide screen TV at amazing prices. Since joining I have had my buildings and contents insurance ...
...and have given various companies the chance to beat their quote, however the Money Club wins everytime. I believe the others that have put their reviews on this site have missed the point. When you have a cost of an item you must call the Money Club who will then research it for you always come back with a better price. They are worth every penny!!! ...
