The Sims has been rated the "Number 1 PC Game of All Time". And i agree, the sims was addicting, was a great game, suprises around every corner and as a life simulator it was sensational. The Sims 2 looked to be a promising sequal to The Sims. But does it compare:

Advantages: Improved game play and graphics, new features, customizable Disadvantages: 4 disc installation, addictive but can grow tiresome
The first thing to know about The Sims 2 is that it comes from a fairly long line of predecessors, most notably The Sims. Creator Will Wright's original masterpiece was Sim City - a game of playing a cross between the town mayor and god to large areas- building the skeleton of a city, from waterworks to electricity, and watching the city grow. From natural disasters to riots and all other manner of unfortunate events, you also control everything ... ...of these games that formed the tentatively titled "Sim Doll House", which later became known as The Sims. The Sims, short for simulation, is most comparable to Sim Town, which focused on a smaller area with individual houses, roads and gardens picked by the player rather than grown out of the player's control, as in Sim City. A new game play aspect was that users could create individual Sims to frequent the town, choosing their clothes and personalities. ...

Advantages: Addictive, Great Graphics, Hilarious Disadvantages: Can be slow on older computers, some tasks are fiddly
The Sims is one of the most popular PC games ever and so when Sims2 was released in Autumn 2004 I was desperate to buy it. You can buy the game brand new from about £25-£29 online.
The basic idea with a Sims game is that you control your Sim throughout their lives, and help them reach their aspirations in their life in their education, love-life, work-life and social life. With Sims2, the Sims themselves can be born in the game (I've had loads of ... ...die again.

The Sims seems to take a lot of memory on the computer, and if you haven't got a brilliantly spec'd computer then it might not run very well. Even on a brand new computer it can take a little while to load up, although once it has started it runs ok. My computer has 1.5GB of RAM and Pentium 4 2.99GHz. The minimum is 384mb of Ram if you are running Windows XP and you must have a minimum 800Mhz Pentium III processor ...

...to write this review, because The Sims 2 is such a large and complex game, that any review which accurately covers everything the game does would need to be as long as the latest Harry Potter novel. However, I will do what I can to convince you that this game is about the most addictive ever created. It's fun, too.

The Sims 2 is an upgrade from the original Sims, with better graphics, more to do and an all-round better playing ... ...this game does. You simulate the life of a Sim, or family of Sims, controlling their every move - be it getting them a job or making them use the toilet. Before I played, I was sceptical. Where would be the fun in making a humanoid computer game character make hamburgers for lunch? But after only a short while playing, I was addicted, and found that there was a lot more to the game than that.

...finally after months of speculation The Sims 2 is finally with us, and about time too! I have been looking forward to playing this game for ages now and I can believe that I have actually played on it. So what’s new about the game? Well, for a start there are many new building options, such ... ...things that was on the best selling game ‘The Sims.’ There is also a new aspiration thingy where you have to fulfil your Sims’ dreams, I found this a little tedious myself, but then I really play the game to build the houses, which I love doing.

We now have a 4 disk set for The Sims 2, which seems like a lot, but once you have loaded the game all you need is disk 1 to play. The loading of the game is great because you can now ...

Introduction-
For the Sims virgins out there (if there are any), this is a game that is a life simulator., in which you have to house, educate and generally take care of your cyber people (Sims).
Having patiently awaited the release of the new revolution in the Sims series, I couldn’t wait to get to grips with it on my PC.

A/ Different variation of the same thing (well it would be somewhat the same. it’s a Sims game!)
B/ Potentially some great new features (playing time will tell)
C/ Where have some of my favourite options gone? D/ My six year old is going to struggle with this (not like the previous games and add-ons).
Hmm, day two…. Ok, so I’ve discovered the build mode (where ...

When I first heard The Sims 2 was coming out, i was more than a little excited! I waited for nearly a year with baited breath! It was definitly worth the wait!
The game is basically a simulation of life...or at its simplest- a pixelated dolls house! But guys, don't let this factor put you off.
In the game, you control every move, every meal, every trip too the bathroom but your Sims can move around independently if you so wish with their own personalities, ... ...the same lines but with worse graphics and with no ageing. Finally, we can watch our Sims grow from newborns, to toddlers, to children, to teenagers, to adults, to elders and finally to their death. mwahahaha!

Back in 2003, The Sims was at it's peak. A Worldwide bestselling PC game, it offered the user (or player) to build a family, and design everything from their house to the colour of hair they had. Expansion packs, that expanded the already brilliant game added various items, different actions, better costumes for your Sims and even more fun.

The Sims 2 was released on the princible of being bigger, better, ... ...start, but I'll start where the game begins - making a family.
Designing a Sim (a Sim is basically a person) can be quite fun in itself. Choose from over 70 different costumes for your to-be Sim, designing not just their casual wear, but Formal, Bedwear, Underwear and even Workout costumes can be altered to your liking. More enphasis was put on the facial features, allowing the player to tweak the skin tones, how long the chin was, how big their ...

Since i purchased The Sims original i was sucked in to its unique gameplay and seemingly endless fun. It took me a good few months to begin to draw away from it and leave it to collect dust up on the shelf! Firstly, the game is four-discs large and requires at least 3.5gb of HDD space free. It also requires a hefty graphics card of at least 128mb to run respectabily (despite what the minimum spec says) although the higher the better - This game is not for old computers, that is one thing certain.
The minimum specs for this game are as follows:
+ Windows 98 / 2000 / ME / XP
+ 800MHz Processor (PIII)
+ 256mb RAM

The Sims 2 has a great pedigree, being the sequel to one of the best selling games of all time. For the uninitiated The Sims is was would best be described as a "life simulator", helping your computerised alter-ego overcome the perils of general day to day life, sounds boring but strangely addictive.
