Advantages Advantages Finally, many new things for your simmies to do!

Disadvantages Disadvantages None really, except that they didn't do it sooner

‘Ambitions’, released June 2010, is the second expansion pack for The Sims 3. And for the first time since The Sims 3 came out a year ago, it finally adds some worthwhile content to the game. I found the base game incredibly boring, with very little for the sims to do and nowhere for them to go aside from a few parks, libraries, gyms and other such uninteresting locations – there were few hobby items, and most of the community lots were ‘rabbit holes’, ie fake buildings that your sim disappears into and you are simply left sitting there blankly watching a progress bar showing the progress of ... more

Ambitions was released mid 2010 and is the second expansion pack for The Sims 3. For the first time since The Sims 3 was released one year ago, it finally adds something to the game. The Sims 3 alone, I found it slightly boring game with very little for the Sims to do and nowhere for them to go except a few parks, libraries, gyms and other locations. There were few hobby items and most of the plots had so called fake buildings where your sim will disappear and you are forced to blankly stare at a progress bar showing progress of whatever it is you sims are doing. The first expansion pack ... more

Advantages Advantages New professions, Get to see sims at work, New clothes, items and hairstyles

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lack of things to do in some jobs

Another addition to the sims franchise, the sims Ambitions is an expansion pack so you need the base game first. In this installment you get to take your sims to all new 'professions' and watch them at work. The professions include Fireman, Tattoo artist, Stylist, Architect, Sculpter, Inventor and Ghost hunter. You are still able to play the other jobs but these are the only ones where your sims don't disappear into a rabbit hole. At first glance these jobs were exciting and I wanted my sim to experience them all. My favourite two were the firefighter and ghost hunter as these roles got more ... more

****The sims 3 ambitions **** A couple of months ago i saw this game on sale for only £2!. I am quite a big sims fan but to be honest i wasn't that bothered by this expansion until i saw that you could control the sims when they were at work as well - something that i think is new to this expansion pack and you also had more options in the creating the houses section of the game. This expansion pack gives you a lot more options with the sims jobs. I like how the sims can own property so they don't need to have a job but still have money coming in. They also seem to be able to earn new skills ... more

Advantages Advantages Simple, cheap, easy to use excitable, novel, lifelike, worth recommending

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

Having pre-ordered the game I simply could not wait to rip open the packaging when it dropped through my letterbox; and rightly so. As soon as I loaded it on to my laptop (which took surprisingly little time) I got down to enjoying the vast new world map. This game is by far the best expansion pack for the Sims 3 so far, and that is saying something because World Adventures was excellent, it builds upon the basis of the game that we all know and love, providing us with a more life-like gaming experience. Our sims can now even do laundry! A little introduction that has gone a long way to making ... more
