THE SIMS: LIFE STORIES (PC)

Advantages: Laptop friendly, comprehensive tutorial for beginners

Sims Life Stories

Advantages: Easy to Learn, Great Fun

...frustating when you can't afford the things you want - don't be too over ambitious at the start, you will have to start with the cheap stuff and work your way up, otherwise you will find your money runs out fast! You start off with a certain amount of simoleons (money) and at the start of the game you have to limit yourself and just buy the vitals. Your sims basic needs need to be fulfilled - hunger, energy, comfort, social, fun, environment, bladder ...
