Advantages: Fun, easy to play Disadvantages: Addictive
I've been playing The Sims since shortly after it was released in 2000. When I was made homeless 2 years ago I lost my copy and I've only just got round to replacing it. I didn't realise how much I missed this game and so I decided to write a review about a game that I enjoy so much.
My game reviews tend to get a mixed re-action; I am going to write this one trying to take in to account all the, (quite often contradictory), criticism I have had ... ...if this review delves into the realm of the game-guide. Some of you like to be told how to play the game and some of you don't. I suppose you can't please everyone!
~~~~~ What is The Sims & how did it come about? ~~~~~
I suppose the best way to describe The Sims would be that it's a real-life simulator, well as close to a real-life simulator as technology allowed in 2000. The Sims was created by Will Wright who also created the popular SimCity ...
I’ve never been the first to try a new game, always hopping on the bandwagon way after everyone else. Saying that however I’ve owned the Sims and played it for a long time, and only this weekend did I decide to reinstall it on my pc after a long long time.
Already I’m finding it’s taking over my thoughts. Instead of thinking what I need to buy at the supermarket this afternoon, I’m wondering how I can get my Sim to be in a better mood to get the ... ...came out in the year 2000, and the whole series is still hugely popular today, with lots of add ons to be found. None of these extra games can be played however without first installing the original Sims game.
When you first install the game and start playing, you are faced with a neighbourhood. Here is where you can choose which house or plot of land you are going to house your Sims in.
There is a handy tutorial feature attached here so if you ...
The sims game for those who have not yet encountered it,is a simulation game where you simulate everyday life(continue reading for a more detailed discription).
The reason I have decided to write this op on the sims,is not just as it is fun and has playable gaming factor,but also to look at it in a very different light.Whilst it is unmistakeably a game,it has amazing educational value,something very often overlooked by many parents ... ...many social,practicle and educational values.Putting the possabiliteis to the test I unleashed the game upon my three children (aged 4yrs,10yrs and 11yrs),with very promising and good results.Read on and I'll tell you more,and fill you in about the gameplay,technical information and gameability as the op unfolds.
Advantages: great fun, loads of expansion packs available Disadvantages: addictive
The Sims is a platform style game from the people who brought us Sim City and so on. Maxi Electronic Arts or EA are renowned for their simulation games, whether they do people cities or sports. The SIms can be picked up for less than a tenner nowadays although there are new expansion packs being brought out every year. I know of seven to date, but there is probably more:
Livin It Up
Hot Date
House Party
Bustin Out
On Holiday
Superstar
Makin ... ...you go!!
There is the ususal epilepsy warning on this game. You are advised not to play for longer than 10 - 15 minutes at a time and to move around inbetween times.
Although I play the game on my PC, it is available in other game formats for the Nintendo Gamecube, XBox and PLaystation 2. These are slightly differing in game play but I think the concept is pretty similar.
The game consists of simulated people and their lives. When you begin a ...
Advantages: good for the control freak, endless possibilities, fun Disadvantages: addictive!
INTRODUCTION
The Sims is such a brilliant PC game; it’s a refreshing change to the typical computer game, there’s no fighting or driving. It’s all about control, and family life.
Betty is in a bad way – her possessions have been taken away by repo men because she cannot pay the bills, her house has just been set on fire, and her husband has ran off with Bella from number 9. How could I get her into this mess?
For fun. Whether ... ...the neighbourhood, or you want to watch them suffer, this game is for you. You can make your Sims go to work and climb the career ladder, they can make friends (you can have a Mr. Popular Sim or a Billy No Mates Sim), they can fall in love, where jealousy is a big theme. There’s much, much more – there’s so much that you can do!
Maxis, the creators of the Sims have also churned out many expansion packs, which I may review in the ...
THE IDEA
YOU are in control. YOU make up and destroy the rules. YOU have the power to change someones life with the click of a mouse.
Before people begin to worry about this game creating 'control freaks' who have plans similar to those of Dr Evil of Austin Powers to take over the world, let me get one thing straight: everything is virtual!
IN THE BEGINNING
At first this game may seem pretty confusing but bear with it!
You must chose or 'design' ... ...living like a prince in the mansion at the end of the road quickly shattered.
