Advantages Advantages Great for Potter fans, easy to read

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not incredibly detailed as they are very short stories.

Nocturne Alley Eventually I have dragged my buttocks towards the computer to start writing once more! I profusely apologise for my absence which was mostly holiday related (two weeks on a sun drenched, tropical island tends to make you not do ANYTHING but look at your glorious surroundings and take pictures of elephants washing) After having had a week or two to recuperate from the disgustingly gluttonous fortnight (which, rather surprisingly lacked any form of debauchery on my part) I have gotten thoroughly back into the way of doom, gloom and working for the public. A couple of things have ... more

Advantages Advantages Fun, For Charity, Excellently Written, Perfect for HP fans!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Short

It seemed approriate to review this as it has only been released a couple of weeks (Thursday 4th December 2008) and I would love to be the first to review this amazing book! P.S. I am the biggest Harry Potter EVER!!! ---About The Book--- The Tales Of The Beedle And The Bard, as many Harry Potter fans will know, is one of the books actually mentioned and used in the last Harry Potter book. In the "Deathly Hallows", the 7th and last book in the series, the late Albus Dumbledore leaves it for Hermione in his will. In the book, it is described as our version of fairy tales, like Cinderella and ... more

Advantages Advantages Fun short stories, easy to read, helping a charity

Disadvantages Disadvantages mainly for Potter fans

The Tales of Beedle the Bard is a spin of book from the Harry Potter Series. The book gets mentioned in the 6th and 7th books in the Harry Potter series. We learn that it is a collect of short stories which wizard parent tell their children when they are growing up, in a way it is their equivalent of our fairy tales. As a result of its popularity J K Rowling decided to make the book with the stories in for us all to read. The book is fairly small and has a light blue cover which has a darker blue pattern over, it has a aged look to it. The back cover it also the same and has a few short ... more

Advantages Advantages excellent piece of memorabilia

    Disadvantages Disadvantages quite short

As a fan of the Harry Potter books, I eagerly awaited the first of November 2007. This was my chance to own a little bit of Potter memorabilia. Of course, I had heard of this book before. Indeed, I practically new a fifth of the book, as it featured so heavily in the Harry potter books conclusion. I had also heard of it, due to its charitable affiliations. One copy of this book, all-be-it leather bound, and embedded with moonstones (and delicately hand written by the delightful JK Rowling herself.), sold at auction at Sotheby's for £1.95million! My copy did not cost that much. I pre-ordered ... more

Advantages Advantages Provides more insight in to the Harry Potter Series

Disadvantages Disadvantages Won't appeal to none Harry Potter fans

If you love the Harry Potter series then this is a must read, but it is a very short and quick read - but a fun one! 'The Tales of Beedle the Bard' is mentioned in the final 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' book, and through the footnotes it provides some insight into the 'deathly hallows'. It is a collection of five stories for young magical children, which have been translated by Hermione Granger, and also includes commentary and notations by Albus Dumbledore, which were found amongst his effects after his untimely death. In many ways, the stories are similar to standard fairy tales ... more
