The Winter Ghosts - Kate Mosse

The Winter Ghosts starts in April 1933, with a man called Freddie. He is off the meet the owner of a bookshop in the hope that he can decipher a letter that he has on his person. The shopkeeper is amazed at the letter and promptly asks where he had come across such a thing. The story that Freddie tells of how it came into his possesion is the main body of the book. (the criteria seems to be asking about the audio version - I am reviewing the book not the audio book) During the January sales immediately after Christmas, I ventured out to Waterstone's to see what book I could find to use my loyalty points on. Naturally, it is never an easy choice when faced with so many options, so I plumped for a '3 for 2' offer, and this included The Winter Ghosts, by Kate Mosse (author, not model). Being a huge fan of Kate Mosses' previous books, Labyrinth and Sepulchre, I had very high hopes for what was described as the follow up in the Languedoc trilogy. Winter Ghosts was the third and final instillation of this Languedoc series which was all set in France. The book is about Freddie Watson, who whilst in a book store trying to translate an old letter, tells us his story. To tell us this story he takes us back to the 1920's where he is suffering the loss of his older brother from the Great War.
