Bargain Books

AdvantagesCheap, good quality, no tie in

DisadvantagesOccasional delivery problems, limited range

"The Book People I first happened upon the book people at work. They had left a selection of cheap, yet good quality books, along with the web address, and I placed my first order. I thought that this was a book club, where you get your first few books for a very reasonable price and then read the small print and find you are tied in for the next few years. I was wrong. ~~ What is The Book People? ~~ The Book People claim to be one of the ..." Read review

Try Not To Break Their Spines

AdvantagesGosh-darned cheap, small but comprehensive selection, excellent customer service.

DisadvantagesHeadache-inducing website colours, not all special offers available online.

" Today, my parcel from thebookpeople was rather a good one. It contained: ● Set of ten books by John Steinbeck in Penguin Classics at £9.99. The published price for these books is a whopping £77.90. (Well, I needed them: my old ones are rather dog-eared). ● Stanley Yelnat's Guide to Camp Green Lake by Louis Sachar at £1.99. The published price of this is £4.99 and I've not seen it at less anywhere on the High Street. (If you've read ..." Read review

Loyalty points for books

Advantagesbargain books

Disadvantagesnone

"It's NOT a CLUB and it gives you loyalty points for buying books. Can you beat that? Who they are? The bookpeople.co.uk are a book company who offer books at discounted prices without the the customer feeling the pinch of belonging to yet another club. Books can be bought without any obligation to buy any more, although they feel sure you will return because of their prices. What they offer. Books at discounted prices. A book that will ..." books, books and more books

Advantagesfree delivery for purchases over £25.00, gift delivery service

Disadvantagesdo not stock the latest releases

"I was first introduced to The Book People via their mail order service, which has now been running over 10 years. I was delighted to discover they also had an on-line service. As the name suggests, the company sells a good array of books and stationery for all ages. Don’t expect to find the latest releases here though as it is mainly devoted to bestsellers that have been in print for some time, and this is reflected in their pricing. Most ..." Read review

I Shall Get Lost In Books As Well Then

AdvantagesBloomin' fantastic prices

DisadvantagesNo e-mail delivery tracking at the moment

"...Yey!!!!!!!!!! All in all, TheBookPeople.co.uk is the best online bookstore I’ve shopped at!! It trounces the prices on Amazon, and every single time I look at it, I see something new I want! Most bestsellers are heavily discounted here and their collections offer fantastic value for money. I really should’ve just gone back to bed with my books this morning as the rest of the day turned out to be pretty awful; I was terminated!!!! Well, ..." Read review

Great books, Great prices, Great service!

Advantagesgreat books at great prices

Disadvantagesnone

"If you have not yet discovered this amazing company you really should go th their website and have a look. They sell wonderful books at amazing prices! I first encountered The Book People when i was working in school and one of their reps came round and left a small selection of books for people to browse and order if they wanted to. Over the years I have ordered quite a few books in this way and always been really pleased with the low price and ..." Read review

Do you want cut price books

Advantagescheap, online ordering or free via school, earn money for your school

Disadvantagesnone

"How many times have you been in an office, doctors, solicitors etc and seen a pile of book/cuddly toys/stationery etc piled in a corner? Chances are they have been left by the "man in the red van" - otherwise known as The Book People. They deliver a range of their products which they sell at extremely silly prices. They can be up to 85% off retail prices. They have a website where you can get the same sort of bargains and if you order over £30 ..." Read review

What more could you want

AdvantagesCheap books, good quality books, contactable in numerous ways, quick accurate delivery

DisadvantagesCan get lost fairly easily

"http://www.thebookpeople.co.uk is an amazing site. I have been looking through discount book sites online for some time now and this is the first one that I have found that has been useful, been excellent value for money and the only one to have any books in that I was actually interested in. A few months ago, my mum started receiving a catalogue through the post entitled 'The Book People'. I was amazed, not only at the number of books on offer ..." Read review

Disadvantagessometimes a lack of good books for adults

"I have been using the Book People for a long time after having been told about them from one of the parents at the school where I teach. I was pleased to see a large selection of books on a variety of subject areas ranging from books for children for school and quiet reading to humour, sport, crime, stationery and audio tapes as well as many others. I found many new books at reduced prices (16.99 down to 4.99) and usually in hardback form. The ..." Read review

a little known secret place for great cheap books

AdvantagesEasy to navigate. Great quality products. Cheap

Disadvantagesdoesn't stock everything (but we have amazon for that)

"The Book People started as an off-line company, selling books by catalogues stuffed in newspapers. Since they went on-line, this has become my preferred way of shopping with them, as I can get hold of books before they hit the catalogue and sell out, as happens frequently. I have some great childrens Books I bought from here. Just now they have the first 3 Harry Potters in hardback for 12-99. Post is free if you spend 25 quid which I always do. The ..." Read review

EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY

AdvantagesCHEAP DISCOUNTED BOOKS

DisadvantagesLIMITED RANGE OF BOOKS

"I’ve used THE BOOK PEOPLE several times in the fast without any problems. I did use them before they were on line but the addition of the web site makes things a lot easier for both parties. If you are after very cheap discounted books then this site is for you. The only criticism is the limit range of books they carry. This is probably why they are so cheap, sticking to the items they know are likely to sell. The design of this site and the navigation ..." Read review

Excellent value

AdvantagesValue for money

DisadvantagesBe prepared to accept the limited range

"I've used this site several times. In some ways it's like a net-based remaindered bookshop and in others like a mail order book club. What makes it outstanding is value for money. There are massive reductions. Try some of the bundled books, e.g.poets or Penguin fiction. Even if some titles are not to your taste the saving is outstanding. They also operate a points' system that allows you to buy free books against points gained. Books have always been ..." Read review

Excellent value for money

Advantagesvery helpful and informative

Disadvantagesnone

"I have used the book people internet service many times and have always found them to be excellent with a service second to none. I have never had any problems with the web site and the products are so much cheaper then in a normal book shop. The more books you buy the more points you get which you can then accumulate to but a book or books of your choice. I have always found the delivery a lot quicker then they anticipate sometimes items arriving ..." Read review

You will find their prices hard to beat

AdvantagesExcellent value for money

DisadvantagesLimited choice

"This is about the cheapest book site on the web that I have managed to find. It's easy to navigate, ordering is simple, and the books always arrive in three or four days. Admittedly the selection is limited, it doesn't have a selection as big as the likes of Amazon or Books On Line, but what they do have is very cheap. Some of their prices are discounted by as much as 75%. Delivery is £2.95 per order, or if you spend over £30 postage is free. They ..." Read review

AdvantagesCHEAP BOOKS

Disadvantages-

"Think of a book site, and many people think of amzon.co.uk, not many have heard of bookpeople.co.uk, it’s such a well laid out sites, and has some really good offers. I was particularly looking for children books, and I came across this site. I was so impressed, you could make some really good savings on books. I wanted my cousin to have some educational books, and at this site that is what I got. You could chose from pop books, to books that ..." Read review
