    I first came across TheHut.com through another website I use, Find-DVD.co.uk, an invaluable site where you can source DVDs and find where they are being offered cheapest. During my searches, two retail websites routinely appear at the top of the list of those offering the cheapest prices for any of the DVDs I'm interested in - Play.com and TheHut.com - and so naturally I use both quite regularly. Play.com is the more familiar of the two, but TheHut.com is a very neat and useful website that, in my experience at least, offers prompt and efficient service.     I as a man am not a fan off shopping at all and in fact would go as far as to say I hate it. I go and get the bar minimum and get out of the shop as quickly as possible and have been known to buy a lot of random stuff in the past not having a clue what I have bought till I get home. But obviously you need to shop to get by every day whether its for for food clothing essentials etc and for me online shopping is not something that I had really thought off up until about a year or so ago.     My husband sent me a link of a game he wanted for his psp and having clicked on the link I was directed to thehut.com. Initially I had thought it had something to do with Pizza Hut hahaha.....honestly, I had never heard of the site before and was nervous about ordering from them as in the past I have used play.com and never had any problems.     thought id share my experiences with you so you can make the best informed decisions about this operation--brace yourself. i ordered 2 DVD boxsets from another company (love Film) for over £50, and they never arrived--disappointed i reordered from another company (the hut) and guess what? they never arrived, in the time between these two orders (all the waiting etc) i had ordered some games from two other sites (zavvi and asda entertainment) and youll never guess what---most of them didn't arrive either (about half actually did). i was seriously worried the royal mail had something against me ... more

    This isn't a full review; just a documentation of my one and only experience with thehut.com. My experience was such a farce, I feel I must document it here as a warning to others. Whilst the experience I am about to relate is undoubtedly a rare occurrence, it's worth adding it to the reviews if only to let people know that it can, and does, happen. That said, on to the story.     I placed an order on the 15th of November for a Christmas gift for a relative... It is now the 15th of December, and my item has not arrived. I checked online to see the status of my order to see 'Awaiting dispatch'... A month after I'd placed the order?! So I emailed the customer service team and was told that the products were not in stock, and that I would have to wait, even though when I'd ordered the items, I made sure they were marked as being in stock. Nonetheless, I demanded a full refund. Definitely won't be ordering from this website again, and after reading numerous other negative ... more

    I have shopped at The Hut for over two years now mainly because they are so cheap. In fact I've bought so much from them they sent me an email saying as I was one of their best customers I could enter myself into a prize draw with my next order. It's a shame then that I've decided there wont be a next order. I've reached the end of my tether with them. I've had numerous problems with them in the past which I have overlooked because of their low prices.     I ordered a Wii balance board after Christmas last year for myself and after it hadn't arrived almost two weeks later I checked their website again. My account said I had to do ring them to answer security questions before they dispatched my order as it was on hold. I was told I was randomly selected as it was my first order but I think they could have sent me an email to let me know they needed me to do this. A couple of months later they still didn't have it in stock so I cancelled it and bought the item elsewhere. I thought this might have been a one-off so I gave it a second chance this ... more

    I placed an order on Friday at 5.15pm and realised later that I had ordered the wrong item (had followed a link from Google Shopping which only matched some of my search term). As it was saying dispatch would be on the Monday and that my order was *still being processed*, I attempted to cancel the order about 6.50 on the Account Order page using the cancel button. Came back an hour later to see the cancel button had reappeared and my order had not been cancelled.     I've placed a few orders with these guys now, at the begining I was a little worried you know what it's like ordering online from someone that you have never used before and quite honestly everything has turned up really quickly with no problems. My latest order was for the new bond movie which was released on the 23rd. I got my copy well before the release date......... Fantastic!!!! In my opinion this film was a little crap, parts of all the other bond movies, so i was really disappointed when watching it. This place offers great prices and a big range of items.
