Advantages Advantages Shows babies from different cultures, short and simple

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pictures could be brighter

When my daughter had her nine month check with the Health Visitor we were given a Bookstart bag and inside we found this book, as it was from Bookstart the book is completely free. The book is approx 8 inches square and is made of board to make it easier for little hands, the book I would guess is aimed at babies from about 9 months old as that is when they receive the book from Bookstart. The front of the book has the title "Tickle, Tickle" written in fun bright red writing which is good for catching a babies attention, there is a picture on the front of 2 babies one tickling and one being ... more

    Advantages Advantages Board book, free

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only suited to young children

Bookstart is a nation wide scheme that introduces children to books from a young age. I received this book in a free pack from my health visitor when my daughter was around 6 months old. Tickle, tickle is written by Helen Oxenbury. It is a board book which I think is essential for babies that like to rip and chew everything in sight. My daughter has had this book for around 18 months and it isn’t showing lots of signs of wear like a normal paper back book would. The contains 8 pages, these are made into 4 double page spreads. Each spread has pictures of multiple children doing every day tasks ... more

All babies like to be tickled so why not read them a book which includes a tickle at the end. The aptly named Tickle Tickle is written by the award winning illustrator Helen Oxenbury. This book won the Booktrust Early Years Award in 1999. I received this book free the other week as part of the bookstart pack from the Bookstart scheme which is a charity and national programme that encourages all parents and carers to enjoy books with their children from as early an age as possible. They offer the gift of free books to all children at three key ages before they start school, to inspire ... more

**The front cover on my book is different to the picture** Tickle Tickle was given to me in my Book Start pack and is a very nice book. It's aimed at babies and toddlers. I started reading to my baby at 6 weeks old...A little early I know but I enjoy reading. Also I have 16 nephews and nieces who often pop round and read through his books. The book is a large approximately 20cm x 20cm and is made of thick card which allows for easy page turning for little hands. The cover is attractive but simple with a blue background and the title in bold yellow writing. The illustration is of two children ... more
