    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive

Tiger beer is the true Asian beer. The Tiger demands respect in Asia and throughout the world. Asia Pacific Breweries in Singapore, which is a joint venture between Frasers & Neave and Heineken NV, brew it (No wonder I like the taste). Tiger beer is the predominant brand of the company and was first brewed way back in 1932. Tiger beer is immensely popular throughout Asia and especially South East Asia. My first experience with Tiger Beer was surprisingly in Sierra Leone (West Africa). The reason why I ended up drinking Tiger beer there was because we had exported a 20ft. container load ... more

Advantages Advantages Not bad, not bad at all

Disadvantages Disadvantages Probably not the best beer in the world

Asia's number one beer, Tiger Beer is brewed by Asia Pacific Breweries in Singapore, which comes under the umbrella of Heineken. APB has breweries not only in its home country of Singapore but also in China, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand. Tiger, which has been produced since 1932, is the company’s flagship brand. It has won over 30 international awards for its quality and is available in certain outlets including most supermarkets and off licences in the UK at around £1.10 for a 330ml bottle. It is also popular in many ethnic restaurants, particularly those ... more

Advantages Advantages Good Quality. Pleasant Flavour

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not so widely available in UK

The Tiger is greatly respected and even revered in Asia. In the Chinese Zodiac the Tiger is regarded as one of the best birth signs. Equally Tiger beer, brewed by the Asia Pacific Breweries’,a joint venture between Frasers & Neave and Heineken NV of Holland, is a hugely popular beverage throughout South East Asia and other regions of the world. It is the best selling beer in its homeland and very popular in neighboring Malaysia; it also has quite a following among lager buffs in the UK. Today Asia Pacific Breweries’ have breweries not only in its home country of Singapore but also ... more

First things first, your wondering who Tony is right? Well http://www.ciao.co.uk/KelloggsFrostiesTVAdvertisementReview56302 89 will explain (yeah im a whore). So on to the beer then, I got 8 of the 330ml (33cl for you continental types) for £6 (which works out as being £.75 a bottle or around £0.003 an ml). So that not to bad when I've just seen Becks being sold at 6 for £5 (£1.20 a bottle). So against most people on Ciao, I don't find Tiger particularly costly. With that little rant out of the way I'll get onto the actual review of the beer, like other have said (surely this wont be the first ... more

Every curry house sells it, and the argument goes which 'curry beer' is better; Cobra, Kingfisher or Tiger... well this review will describe the pros of Tiger beer in all it's glory. Born in Asia in 1932 and brewed and bottled by Hainan Asia Pacific Brewery Co., with some of the finest quality hops and malted barley and no artificial additives, Tiger beer has spread over the world to become one of the world's favourite, and most successful beers across the land. Advantages Advantages Might help to quench a Fiery Thai or Vindaloo

Disadvantages Disadvantages A disappointing representative from the Far East

I was curious to find this offering from the Far East at my local supermarket. Brewed and bottled by Asia Pacific Breweries, it is an example of lager from Singapore. It is brewed to a 5% strength and is presented in large 660 ml bottles. Mine cost me £ 1.75 a bottle today at Tesco. THE BOTTLE. The beer is dispensed in a conventional brown bottle embossed with the words ‘Tiger’ around the neck and “Property of Asia Pacific Breweries” around the base. (Quite how I get it back there I don’t know) It was stoppered with a gold crown cap that has a picture of a tiger on it. The neck is sheathed in ... more

I have been working long, no I mean really long, hours in the store where I spend my days and most of my evenings so that everyone can have a good Christmas. Tonight, I was only going to be cooking for just myself, so what would I have……. On my way home, I had to visit the grocery store to pick up some items and I caught sight of those Chinese Takeaways in a bag. My partner was not home tonight as she is working through till 6am tomorrow so I reckoned this would be a good option. If I am truthful with you, there is not much food for one in this bag and not enough for two so I reckoned on ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good lager

    Disadvantages Disadvantages the day after

What do I love about reviewing lager? The tasting, of course. But before I get to that, let me tell you a little about tiger beer. Tiger beer is brewed in Singapore and is one of Asia's most well known lagers and indeed exports. You generally find this stuff floating around Eat all you can Chinese restaurants and Balti eateries but I found it at Asda. Asda were selling 12 bottles (12x330ml) for £9.00. That is 75p a bottle! This is an impressive price for bottled lager. At one of the Chinese restaurants I frequent, it costs £1.50. The individual bottles are made of brown glass with 'Tiger' ... more

Advantages Advantages Smooth and easy to drink

Disadvantages Disadvantages Price in certain quarters

I first tried tiger beer when i visiteda restaurant for meal with my wife. I asked the waiter what light and refreshing beer he could recommend and suggested tiger beer. I looked at the bottle and liked the design of the label and then had a look at the achohol content which at 5% is fairly reasonable. I tasted the beer for the first time and my first opinion was that it tasted like a cross between Fosters and Carlsberg whichout the acidic taste that you get from the latter. The restaurant we frequented serves oriental food and so i thought that the tiger beer complimented the meal well ... more
