I must admit to being a stickler for using a biro for all my writing needs, both at home, at work and up until recently at university. Long gone are the days when coursework and letters are written by hand, the trusty computer having now taken over, however I still enjoy writing and therefore am constantly needing a corrector fluid for all my little errors. In the past Tippex was a white corrector fluid which used a small brush for application. This worked, however the brush would often become stuck together or scratchy and therefore the accuracy of applying corrector fluid would fail. This ... more

--- Let's start with a question --- Tipp-Ex used to be "the" thing to have in your pencil case, but is this still the case? As we are now fully immersed into the digital computer age has the need for hand written items become obsolete? More and more we hear of classrooms being filled with laptops and interactive digital whiteboards. In the workplace, preparation of digital PowerPoint presentations and electronic invoices sent via email are the norm. So are we going to lose the skill of the hand written message or letter? --- How bleak is the future or Tipp-Ex? --- Along with this digital ... more

Tipp-Ex is a brand that's been around for a while, and I believe it first came in to production in around 1965, becoming available in over 150 countries. It's one of those well-known names that I can't imagine anyone not knowing, whether they use it or not, because it's that popular. This review is for the bottle of correction fluid, but you can get Tipp-Ex in other formats depending on your needs/preference, including correction tape and correction pens. I like the traditional bottle, especially since the improvement of the applicator. This still comes in the small white bottle that holds ... more

TIPP-EX **WHAT IS IT** Tipp-Ex is a correction fluid which will cover any mistakes you have made. You can sort of paint over the mistake with your Tipp-ex and then write over it so you will no longer see the mistake you have made. It can be used over many different surfaces as long as the Tipp-ex will stick to it and the surface is white although the main use is for paper so it is very popular in offices and for school work. **PACKAGING** It comes in a white tub which is plastic. On the front there is the Tipp-ex sign in red and the front label is blue. It has a picture of the applicator on ... more

Although almost everything I write these days seems to be typed, I still have a bottle of Tipp-Ex in my desk drawer at work. I still do some bits of handwriting on compliment slips, envelopes, to do lists and notes to colleagues, and I do like it all to be very neat! (If only that compulsion towards neatness extended itself to my desk or my housework I’d be on a roll.) If you’re newly landed on Planet Earth, you’ll need to know that Tipp-Ex is a white fluid used to paint over mistakes in your work to cover them up. You can then write over those mistakes so your work looks neat and tidy ... more

When I was at home the other day I was writing a letter out ad made a mistake and realised I’d run out of Tipp-Ex. I know it shouldn’t be a big issue but without Tipp-Ex you’d have to draw a line through something or scribble it out which just looks really messy and ruins the look of something. This is why I decided to stock up on a few bottles of it the other day as you can never have enough. I usually find that once I have a bottle, it lasts me for a good while after buying it. APPEARANCE The Tipp-Ex bottle has a very distinct colour to it and comes in a white bottle like the liquid with a ... more

Ok hands up those of you who haven't heard of Tipp-ex or haven't ever had cause to use it? WHAT IS IT? Tipp-Ex is a popular brand of white correction fluid which has been around now since the mid 60s. I've been working since the 80s and having always worked in offices, I can't think of a single office environment where Tipp-Ex was not available until more recently when cheaper brands are probably more common. Tipp-Ex having been around for so long is what most people call correction fluid in the UK. I've always just referred to is as Tipp-Ex as it's what I am used to calling it. Only in recent ... more

My work life and home life both consist around lots of computer work and keeping accurate records. I keep a written list of all freelance work that I do and one of the large companies that I work for often send me lots of work at the end of the day. As I do one listing per company per day that I do work for them I always have to make corrections. This is my main reason for using Tippex at home and at work I use Tippex when we are writing up customer appointments and don't want to have lots of scribbles all over the place or keep asking head office to send us further copies of paperwork that we ... more

I do quite a bit of letter writting as I run my business from home, sometimes I email and often type on the computer then print off a letter or document after I have done a word check, but then there's other times when I just haven't got a lot of time to type and spell check and print or sometimes when I like to hand write a letter or birthday card and these are the times when my Tipp-ex comes in handy. I have to read through the letters and documents I send to clients or family and friends as I have mild dyslexia and sometimes I have made mistakes which need the Tipp-ex to correct them. Tipp-Ex is a well known product in the land of office/stationery supplies. It is a fine white liquid that is applied over mistakes done on paper so that it can be re-written over if needed or generally not seen. It is easily found and can be bought from stationery stores such as Rymans and WHSmith, to supermarkers, and newsagents even stock it too. A 20ml bottle can be bought for £1.79 from Rymans, but tipp-ex can be found ranging from £1.30-£1.80 depending on where it is stocked. The tipp-ex comes in a small bottle with a screw top lid. Once you unscrew the lid and remove it you will find a ... more
