TomTom ONE Europe

My partner already had a Tom Tom Go, but sometimes we both needed help. He travels all round the country and recently had to plan routes for a new car launch from many dealer locations in the South East, with a Tom Tom he was able to plan the routes to perfection, detailing mileage, junctions, even speed traps. On buying my Tomtom one i was very excited and also a little disapointed with the size of the box, i purchased a TomTom one v4 europe with traffic updates. The set up was very simple no CD to mess about with and put in my "Man Draw" never to be seen again all the software for your pc is on the unit itself just plug the usb lead in and away you go. The new easy mount part is truly rubbish you click the unit into it and unless you get this right ...
...and that i should ring TomTom i did this and was told by proberly the worst customer service assistant in the word that there is nothing they can do as this is physical damage bbut they would sell me a reconditioned unit for £20 morethan i brought the original one for. Sorry TomTom its back to a map for me and i have a £150 paper weight now ...

I recently tried to use this Sat Nav system whilst on holiday in the Algarve, Portugal. NOT ONCE did it find us where we wanted to go. Problems we had: 1. The system is really easy to use thanks to a touch screen menu system, using symbols as well as descriptions for the main menu options, and it is really easy to program and set up with your own details. Without hesitating, I purchased the device from Comets that had a discount on the product at that time. Slightly better than the ONE XL and GO but again full of useless features, Please tomtom get back to basics. Learn from the Germans, try a Grundig nav 100 for a few days and you would remember why the sat nav was invented. Its to take you to your destination 100% of the time, not to play your movies, MP3 and so on and on..... I like the size of this unit, had it for 3 weeks and took me to the wrong destination twice!! that just is not good enough when you're business involves a great deal of driving around. ...

the Best sat nav ever made!! i bought 2 of them (the first got stolen) and its the simplest and easiest to use, find every spot you need to find, you just need to practice on how to search. when i came to london (almost 2 years ago) i coulden't find anything and i had to take my wife with me everywhere (she was born here). than i got the tom tom one. its simple to operate, and even for a complete stranger like me it took 10 minuets to understand. ...

I received this little gadget as a present and have only just got round to using it as I dont realy drive all that much. I believe it was about £200 although Ive seen them cheaper. It plugs into the car cigarette lighter, and switches on with a press ona button. It seems to take a while to actually "come on" and at first I was worried but now Ive got used to waiting about a minute for things to kick into action! The screen is colured and just 7X5 ...
...a bracket with a rotating ball whihc makes it easy to adjust BUT..the suction cup on the end of the bracket proved very difficult to stay in place, I tried wetting it, leaving it dry, pressing it firmly on to the windscreen and dashboard..but whatever I tried it fell off after a few minutes! This is a real disadvatage as its distracting..although the unit carried on directing me from where it had fallen! Its easy to programme by tapping the screen ...

I had brought the TomTom One for my fathers birthday as he is no good at reading maps and also like to travels alot.The TomTom ONE Europe is very easy to use, it is totally user friendly even my 10 year old sister knows how to use it. The maps are in good detail and the online dsiplay is very accurate. It is much smaller than the previous models making it ideal to carry in your pocket.
