I Recently replace my Garmin Street pilot unit with a TOM TOM V3 Europe (Traffic edition). I mainly did this because I wanted a low cost traffic solution, and I was able to get this from Halfords for under £170.00 (at the time of purchase) It came complete with the TMC receiver module. Advantages: maps are very up to date
Disadvantages: battery dies pretty fast

...back alleys and short-cuts and TomTom knows them all, and they're all kept up to date too, a new speed camera was fitted and it knew before I did! You have to make sure you keep it regularly updated using the software provided but as long as you do you shouldn't have any problems at all. This product is great went to franch last year and came in very handy for finding our friends villa, took us right to the door. Great value for money and i wouldnt be without it now as i get lost evry easy :), lovely little gadget great that it talks like most sat navs i know, but i had a cheap one few years back that kept losing the signal this one hasnt once, and if you miss turning it re directs you very quickly. The product name suggest it contains maps for Europe while it contains maps for Western Europe only. If you only drive in Western Europe it's probably good for you. If you would like to drive to central or eastern Europe, forget about it. It's not possible to install additional maps on it. Build-in memory is too small and it's not possible to add more.
