An Underworldly Outing

Advantages: Fantastic Graphics / Engaging Storyline / Amazing Voice Acting - Great Emotion
Disadvantages: Awful Camera System / Nothing New - We've seen it all before / Lack of Trophy Support

...struggling economy to blame? Tomb Raider: Underworld simply picks up where Tomb Raider: Legend left off. Lara is in search of a way to enter Avalon where her mother has apparently been sucked in to whilst protecting her young daughter. Following a lead, Lara finds a Norse temple in the Mediterranean Sea where she in fact discovers that the Arthurian world Avalon and the Norse underworld Niflheim are actually the same world. After fighting some ...

A step in the right direction for Crystal Dynamics

Advantages: Fantastic graphics and music, better level design
Disadvantages: Levels still full of corridors, horrendous camera

...have to go against the Tomb Raider nuts and say that this game was actually really enjoyable, really a step up from Legend. The CD games will never stand up against Core's work, but if they keep improving like this they'll always be fun to play. Bad points: The camera is STILL dodgy, some jumps were a bloody nightmare because it seemed to hover right into Lara's back, which is a major annoyance. Also, the levels have been improved slightly in terms ...
...of boring tramping about to the next cutscene. And finally, there seems to be very little continuation from Legend into Underworld. Yes, we're still looking for Avalon and Lara's mother, but the storylines seem very loosley linked to me. Good points: The graphics and music are stunning, I really feel the soundtrack sounds like it should have come from a movie, it's beautiful. No complaints there. As I said before, the exploration has been upped, ...

Tomb Raider Underworld... Fantastic!!!!

Advantages: Superb graphics, Grate game to play, really enjoyable
Disadvantages: Before the patch the game kept freezing, Auto save sometimes messed up the game.

...jumping from poll to poll. Tomb Raider Underworld uses the same engine as the previous "Anniversary" and "legend". Witch I really liked. A few added extra combat moves such as split target, melee kick, and firing with one hand and hanging by the other. What I really liked was if I got stuck to a point where I feel I've done everything I can. You can go on Lara's PDA and get field assistance where Lara will then give you a tip of what to do next. ...
...slow down. While you have time to think before you get flattened or fall to your death. You still have your grapple hook to grab objects, climb up walls and swing from the ceiling. I found none of the enemies to be difficult on the game as you can just use your adrenaline and perform a headshot or throwing a grenade. Before the patch was released, the game would sometimes freeze before a cut scene. Then I would have to quit the game and restart ...

Lara never looked so good.

Advantages: Great gameplay, great graphics, engrossing plot
Disadvantages: Not as challenging as other installments, quite short compared to other games.

This instalment of Tomb Raider is most definitely the best i've played, its graphically clean and clear with good controls, good camera work great level ingenuity and unexpectedly good enemy AI. The storyline is quite easy to grasp and flows really well from mission to mission. It does harken back to previous games so some players may find this irritating and end up perpetually saying to themselves 'Who the hell is that?' as did I. But in terms of ...
...without being infuriating (as many Tomb Raiders fans will appreciate). Previously in Tomb Raider games you would spend 7 hours looking for a switch, or 3 hours running around a stage wondering what the hell you missed, this game has no such flaws and as a result seems like a breath or fresh air. Overall this game is well worth a play by anyone with a ps3, and a definite must for any fan of the series. ...

Tomb Raider

Advantages: Great story and graphics
Disadvantages: Camera and Combat is a bit poor

Tomb Raider the essence of gaming, the creator of sick days at work or school and word that instantly makes you think of one girl, Lara Croft. Yes Lara has picked up her guns and come back to PS3, XBOX and the Wii, with a master piece of great graphics and compelling story lines. Lara is on the hunt to find her mother and stumbles upon something that might help her (Thor's Hammer). She now has to battle her way through underwater worlds, deadly jungles ...
...Each level has several different ways to complete, which makes the game so much fun, this really puts you in the explorers seat and lets you go where no Lara has gone before. The graphics are really good with detail on, well everything, the only thing I found bad about this game was the combat, it was a bit to easy, from bats dropping like a hat to the living dead dying all over again. Oh and the camera is a bit fussy to, making Lara fall of ledges ...
