...beside me. We have the Tommee Tippee Sure Sound Ultimate monitor, and I would thoroughly recommend it to any parent or a mother-to-be shopping for her nursery essentials. I originally had wanted the Angel Care monitor, as I had seen one in a friend's house and loved that it sensed the baby's every breath, but when our baby arrived we were given a gift voucher by a friend and decided to spend it on a baby monitor. The store we got the voucher for ... ...an alternative- The Tommee Tippee Sure-sound, it was slightly more expensive than the Angel care but not very much. It was one of the best purchases we made, and one that we have gotten the most use from.
Like any generic baby monitor there is a part which sits in the baby's room and a parent unit which transmits any baby noises to the room that the parents are in. Ours is currently mains operated as we have got sockets that suit the task very well, ...

Advantages: Good distance range, can be clipped to belt, I get sleep! Disadvantages: Too quiet
I bought this item for peace of mind. I previously have had the Angel monitors and thought this one would be a good upgrade due to it having a light and a tempreture gage on it too. In my opinion these monitors are the best investment a parent can make. My baby was born prematurely so I was even more worried than ever when finely getting her home. I have found this monitor great for making sure the room is just right for her and so I can sleep! What ... ...when baby does move off the mat or indeed does stop breathing. I have woken many times to see the light flashing (meaning she had either moved off the mat of stopped breathing in the night) and me not even to have heard it. I never had this problem with my previous ones. I like the shape of the monitor and the amount of wire given.
