    What do you want a satellite navigation system for ? I used to ask myself that question, and at the time I could only reply - to find my way to places I'm unfamiliar with. Now, however, I would list a lot more - especially if you look at the additional functions provided by the TomTom GO700. You can, for example: - Find the nearest cashpoint/petrol station/hotel/restaurant.... - Receive traffic updates and re-route accordingly - Be warned when approaching speed cameras And to save additional expense, while keeping you road-legal, the TomTom GO700 even links to bluetooth mobile phones and ... more

    The first thing I must say is that within minutes I got the hang of this Go 700, it really is that easy to understand. Don't worry if you think you're going to get a long winded confusing instruction book because you don't.. and you don't really need one, but then who needs a confusing sat nav when driving?. It takes a few minutes to find satellites when you first turn the unit on but after that you will never want to turn it off again. You set your home address into the unit on the first power up, after then whenever your off on your travels you just press (touch screen) the 'Navigate to' ... more

    Tom-tom's are first and foremost the best gps line I have ever seen in my store iv been lucky enough to test drive most the main branded gps's in the last year. Tom-tom 300, 500, 700 are right up there with the pro's for good prices. This review is obviously on the Tom-tom 700 though you may want to read my other reviews on the other two when I get them up to compare. In my opinion the 700 is the only in car entertainment that you need (except for a stereo). It has inbuilt Bluetooth to connect to a Bluetooth enabled phone.     I treated myself to a Tom Tom 700 for Christmas. I travel a lot on my own, some of it in France and trying to drive with an atlas in one hand isn't ideal. after a great deal of research I chose the 700. Ok I haven't learnt all the bits on it yet, but it gets me to my destination. If you know the postcode, it will get you there, and you have the choice of shortest or fastest route. Addresses can be input fairly easily and you still get there. The intructions are given clearly, but I find the 3D display very helpful, especially on roundabouts, just to confirm you're taking the correct turning ... more

    I bought this product from the tax free area in Stansted on our way out to Girona. The product is well packaged and it comes with everything you need. The Tom Tom was really easy to use and I got it up and running in a matter of minutes. It does take a few minutes to find the satellite the first time you switch it on. It had excellent mapping in Spain and I was able to use both in the car and on foot to navigate to destinations easily and without any hitches. The screen is easy to read on foot but in the car you can get some screen glare from the sun but this can be resolved by getting an anti ... more

    Very good sat nav system which is very easy to use. Only takes 2 mins to set up and then all you have to do is attach to your wind screen. The remote which comes with it is really just a novelty as your probably never really going to use it. The screen size is big enough for you to see and know exactly where you are going. The mobile phone bluetooth is very good, as soon as your phone rings it pops up on the screen for you to accept/reject the call and you talk through the tom tom which is surprisingly very clear.     Quite simply the easiest gadget to set up and use I have ever purchased. Touch screen menus which allow you to plan routes by post code, address or point of interest like stadiums are mastered in seconds. Fixing to my car windscreen was a doddle. Setting it up to pair with my bluetooth mobile for traffic information was simpicity itself (far easier than my palm top). Travelling to a well known football stadium worked perfectly.
