Good cheap baby monitors (Tomy Walkabout Classic Advance Monitor)

Advantages: 100% portable, mains or battery powered, good solid units
Disadvantages: Can eat through batteries

In the box you get a set of instructions whish tell you how to get started and how to use all of the various features these monitors have, you also get two baby monitor unit, one is the baby unit and one is the Parent Unit and you get two mains adaptors (one for each unit) The Units ...

Advantages: Easy to use, affordable

We bought these monitors just after our baby was born from Mothercare for around £25. I didnt want one of these all singing all dancing monitors. I just wanted to hear when my baby made noise and thats it. These monitors are perfect for us, we dont have a big house but still require these monitors when our daughter is in bed and we are downstairs and we dont carry them around with us. They can be plugged in with an AC adaptder or you can use batteries. ...

We keep the baby unit under my daughters cot and even on the quietest setting on the parent unit the noise level is fine. Tomy walkabout baby monitors

Advantages: Easy to carry
Disadvantages: Low battery life, poor reception, cuts out regularly, alot of interference

Its not the Tomy brand as i have since purchased the Tomy Premier baby monitors and have found them slightly better although the 'crystal clear' sound they promise isn't so crystal clear and they are a little harder to carry around, it does have a carry clip but if you bend over it falls off. Now, i have tried both of these products in different areas of the house and at other family members houses but have still experienced the same problems. ...
