    Only three more reviews to go till my 200th review, so instead of spending money on new albums, I have decided to do another Ciao Cafe review as I really do enjoy writing them and I feel they are a lot more personal and I think a lot more enjoyable to read, please disagree if you like. Velvet Revolver - Contraband (2004) Velvet Revolver, a band largely made from the defunct members of rock legends Guns ‘n’ Roses, formed in early 2003 with expectation at record levels over the debut album. Joined by former Stone Temple Pilots front man Scott Weiland, the band’s first single was the brilliant Slither, a song that got unexpected recognition in the UK singles charts in early 04.     Here are my favorite 10 Albums, not to everyone's liking but I think the music we listen to reflects as much on us as is it does on the artist. These albums tell my life story in my mind. Anyway ramble ramble here they are, counting down… 10.Coldplay, parachutes. This is a lovely album I think its there Debut. I listen to it when I'm in the bath with flickering candlelight and the calming scent of Lavender filling the room.     A little edit to the topic in question, this is something of a top ten albums of the past few years - mixing a couple of greats with a large portion of fairly new talent - but all with equal respect from me…… 10.     I originally wrote this top ten list over three years ago. Though I have heard hundreds of new songs and dozens of other albums, I am not going to change my list. I have been listening to some of the songs on these albums for over twenty years, so this op honours the both the timelessness of these artists and their revolutionary nature. Thus, I found it very difficult to include anything on the list that wasn't at least thirty years old, with one notable exception.     I'm afraid to tell all you good people that Andy is back in business. I'm writing again after a long period away, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna change my habits. I'm one for writing music reviews and what better way to start again by writing about my fave albums of all time.     It's hard for anyone passionate about music to pick out ten albums as their short list and there are many reasons for this. Probably the main reason is that as our tastes change and evolve throughout the passage of time the list would also change, some albums would shuffle up and down and others would disappear all together as new wonders were found and added to the list. It is no easy task and can only at best capture your feelings on the subject at the time of writing.     Top Ten Albums Having recently written about ten of my favourite songs I am led naturally towards thinking about ten of my favourite albums (LP's in old money). Listing Top Ten's is an essentially frivolous exercise but there is real pleasure to be gained from the process of revisiting the past and thinking carefully about things that have faded in the memory. Not surprisingly, albums are a very different kettle of fish to singles.     This is not my top ten albums, far from it. They will be mostly rock and so make for boring reading. No, these are the top ten of the 1980s that if you're over 30 and reading this review then you probably bought them too and have been scratching your head ever since and wondering why, maybe someone on the telly or Radio One telling you to spend a tenner on them. If you're under 25 it's not worth reading on and you can make better use of your internet time (nudge nudge, wink wink)... Music was indeed all about music in the 70s and 80s, simple as.     While waiting for the album released this week which I submitted to Ciao to be included, I thought about the albums I really enjoy listening to again and again, and found this category, and it all fitted together into an interesting afternoon waffling about music whilst drinking Ribena and eating yoghurt; in my eyes a perfect way to spend the day.
