Advantages Advantages Great price, good machine, works well, easily stored

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can get over heated, turns off the Internet at random, temperamental

My dad lent me a laptop so that I could do some writing on it and read my daughter stories. It was only borrowed whilst I could afford a new one. I was quite shocked by the poor quality of it. Not like other computer's I had, had before. However, my dad was lending it to me, so I could not complain. There are some good points as well as the bad. First of all, it works and for some reason I've ended up with one. My husband was out shopping and spotted one in a laptop shop for £120, so it was a bit of an impulse buy. Then, when he got it home, he realised that it was the same make. Let me tell ... more

Full specification are at the end of the review. This laptop is an ingenius piece of junk that derserves the bin however ill start with the good points. Advantages/positives: Wonderful compatablitly with Vista, life server after my hard drive broke and my BIOS( nerd stuff - binary input and out system) wouldnt accept a old version of XP pro ( no sp). Well the point is that it works like a dream with Vista Business. Decent computing power, can handle games which require a lot of processing demand and graphics. Excellent entertainment notebook, nice surround sound when watching DVD, movies ... more

Advantages Advantages Fast, Lots of spaces, good screen and mobility

    Disadvantages Disadvantages keyboard

Purchased this laptop in November 2006, it came with Windows Media Center Edition 2005 with an update offer to upgrade Windows Vista Home Premium on its release (Jan 2007) for free. However, I think that this laptop now comes with Vista pre-installed. Used this laptop for light gaming, entertainment and application programing. It compleatly replaced my desktop pc and have used it as such. It has had 24/7 use and thanks to the core processor in it, it has not suffered from many of the overheating problems which can occur with laptops. The addition of a dedicated graphics card means that gaming ... more

    Advantages Advantages durability, reasonable price

Disadvantages Disadvantages heat if used long hours and noisy fun inside

This notebook is my first notebook I bought it a year ago soon after it was launched in UK. I paid £499 for it. I don't think I should describe the product description in the review so I will only mention my experiences and opinions. In my opnion, the Satellite series is the reasonable priced notebook introduced by Toshiba. I use it daily and its durability is quite good. The keyboard keys are easy to handle and use. The notebooks come together with a recovery CD. The style is quite simple and classic looks. When it is used for long hours (like 5 hours or more), it becomes hotter especially ... more

My Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 Review. Generally a great all rounder. The wide screen HD TFT display is clear & crisp with a soft matt finish to minimise screen glare. The A100 is fully loaded with WIFi, Bluetooth, 4 usb ports & boasts quality harman/kardon built in speakers. All Hardware is backed up by a great host of top end programs to really get the best out of your projects.... Toshiba have supplied a host of additional system tools to improve the performace & life of this great laptop/note book. So far the A100 has turned out to be the best pc/laptop ive used & generally does not ... more

    Advantages Advantages Hardware, capacity

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Monitor, weight

I have buy this computer and the most important thing I have to say is that it gave a lot of problems with the monitor over I year after but it. First I got a problem whit a piece that give light to the monitor, so the monitor was almost black, like with very very low bright. After I got it repair by the Toshiba warranty, and after about 6 months after that, the monitor began to gave me more trouble. It was making some weir lines , and they disappear if put it in a position, and come back if I put it in the normal position. After some time(months), the monitor became completely useless, and I ... more

Advantages Advantages Functional, reliable, light and looking nice :)

Disadvantages Disadvantages Easy to scratch, needs more RAM

Hi, I've had my Toshiba (that's the 2nd laptop I've had, the 1st was Toshiba, too) for almost 3 years now, and had no problems with it so far. No blue screens, no weird behaviour. I think it just needs more RAM, that's why I'm upgrading it to 2x1GB, instead of the current 2x512MB. Apart from that the battery is dead after 10 minutes, but that's just because I kept it plugged in to AC for the last couple of years. All in all - good buy, I'm not considering buying any newer laptop for at least another year. And then - without a doubt, it will be another Toshiba ;) Trusted brand with perfect ... more
